quirky ways of remembering maths formulas?

For the pythagorean identities I just remember sin^2 + cos^2 = 1 Then the other two is I T S = 1 + Tan = Sec (You know its not sin because its used in the original one) and then the other one is 1 + small co = large co 1 + cot = cosec (lol.)

    General solution

Oh yeah, once you factorise out sin(θ) = 0 Solve it as a general solution, then completely erase it from the equation to make it look more clean =].

    General solution

    4sin3(θ) + 2Sin(θ)cos(θ) - 3sin(θ) = 0 4[sin^2(θ)sin(θ)] + 2Sin(θ)cos(θ) - 3sin(θ) = 0 4[1-cos^2(θ)][sin(θ)] + 2Sin(θ)cos(θ) - 3sin(θ) = 0 Factorise out sin theta. Reduce it to a quadratic. Ummm I learned the triple angle expansions off as a rule just to help me in the the exams...

    General solution

    sin(3θ) = 3sin(θ)cos2(θ) - sin3(θ) 3sin(θ)cos2(θ) - sin3(θ) = 2Sin(θ)cos(θ) 3sin(θ)[1-sin2(θ)] - sin3(θ) = 2Sin(θ)cos(θ) 3sin(θ) - 4sin3(θ) - 2Sin(θ)cos(θ) = 0 4sin3(θ) + 2Sin(θ)cos(θ) - 3sin(θ) = 0 Work...

    Maths Question ^_^

Heh... I just think of it like this Linear function ^1 - Generally starts and ends in Quadrants 3 & 1 respectively right? Quadratic ^2- Starts 1 and 2 respectively Cubic ^3- Starts 3 & 1 respectively Quartic ^4- Starts 1 & 2 respectively see a pattern...? The odd powers start the same way a...

Harder 2U Qs : Quadratic Polynomial

hmm something just doesn't seem right with this question ><" the follow on questions "The roots are in ratio of 2:3" and it asks the same thing... ><" it seems too easy to be considerred "Harder 2U Qs" but oh well... this is like damaging my brain haha ><" makes me feel so stupid and smart and...

Harder 2U Qs : Quadratic Polynomial

hmmm but if 2alpha + 1 = -b/a then can't you do this alpha =(-b/a - 1)/2 and sub it into that equation you just wrote?
  12. T

Harder 2U Qs : Quadratic Polynomial

errr o__O". ok lol. now i feel like a dumbass... ><" would i need to find the alpha term and sub it into that equation?

Harder 2U Qs : Quadratic Polynomial

Well i stumbled across this question and im not sure if i'm doing it right or not because i keep getting really strange answers.... ><" The question goes Find the relationship between a and b in the equation ax^2 + bx + c = 0 ; When the larger root exceeds the smaller root by 1. ><" Thanks...
