    Anyone into photography?

I love photography and film, but it's only when I've got a bit of time and inspiration that I'll actually get any good shots. I'm hoping that 4U English will give me a little freedom with my video camera.

    Any instrument players?

I used to play the flute, but stopped when it got stolen. I'm actually not bad at the drums, and I always play them at school or when I'm over at a friends place, but mum refuses to have me bashing away at a drum kit in "her house". I've always really wanted to play the guitar, and have started...

no idea wat uni course to do?!

Okay, first up, if psychology is the subject you have a passion for, then that's what you should do, regardless of whether or not you think you'll get there. If you work hard enough, you will. Secondly, you said that you're not good at helpig people. I've never, ever, met a person who was...

    Maths vs. English

I had an argument with one of my friends about this subject. He's a maths nerd - lives and breathes the stuff - but couldn't write an analytical essay if his life depended on it. He thinks that maths should be compulsory, as it's just as important as english. I think english is more important on...

Stuffed Up - Still Got A Chance?

Due to various reasons, I've ended up really screwing up the first couple of my internal assessments in a few of my subjects. Not to the point of failure, just average marks, and I'm really hoping to get a good UAI (90-95+ if possible). If I work my arse off for the rest of the year, get much...

16 Year olds doing the HSC

I'm turning 17 during the HSC, skipped Year 3 back in primary. I don't think it's affected me emotionally or intellectually or whatever, except that I'm not bored anymore. I was doing accellerated maths for a couple of years, but decided not to do my HSC two years ahead, so dropped back. I'm...

You guys are thinking too generally with your texts! :(

I wanted to do the car ad for the RTA for my past assessment task, but had already finished it by the time I thought of it. It's the ad where the guy is bopping along to Stumblin' and crashes into another car on a bend. It's a great text, because you can analyse all the techniques used in the...

A few quick essay writing questions....

When writing about a character within a song I also used the word protagonist. I'm assuming it's a song involving a character going on an imaginative journey, which would effectively make him the protagonist of a text. For a song, as well as composer, I referred to the lyricist and artist.

Monologue Speaking Task - Inner Journey

There are plenty of movies to choose a character from. Do you have a specific concept that you want to explore ie. inner journeys through change, trauma? Otherwise it's just a little open ended for us . . .

Who were your favourite Bond girls?

Serves himself right. Too bad Brosnan had to bow out on such a low note. I just can't see this blonde guy pulling the part off with the same sort of style and swagger.

    Walk the Line

Well the script was sent to Phoenix years ago. I'm not sure if Cash 'picked' him, but I know that he supported, and really encouraged the film makers to go for him. After he got the script, Phoenix had to go off and learn to sing and play the guitar before the film could be made. He also...

    I hate Rove

I used to like him, and now he's just cocky. I don't know whether he puts it on for a joke, but either way it doesn't suit him. The only reason I'll ever watch the show again is if an interesting guest is on. The new set isn't a bad thing as such, but the new intro and his stupid little act at...
