yeah what they did with mike moore was pretty slack, but its great that he won - did anyone watch the movie show? they expected it to be too controversial...im not agreeing with chicago winning, just coz (this is kinda unfair though) its a music, and i dont see it as a movie that should win best...

im doing poetry to...i think the bos weren't bad...none of them did anything that rhymed, which was interesting, but i think that the reason they did well was their themes - they were pretty diverse...maybe the markers got bored with teenage life poetry!

anyone agree here, that the oscars are WRONG so often...i mean, if chicago wins, its bull (its a MUSICAL for gods sake) and did anyone see how much editing went into lotr? and beautiful mind last year, seriously? such a copout!

tad advice: make you process diary about your poetry, not about your head - my teacher reprimanded me for doing that, it was just anything that popped into my head, and i wasted like the entire first term doing it...but yeah, life is a good theme i suppose, if corny: at least you know it well...

thats seriously a great idea pene, but i suffer from the same little problem that snakeoil does...there only beign 3 people in my class, we dont have out own copies (and its a big effort printing up the whole thing from that site)...and good idea about malayz' notes ps. i enjoyed elton, once...

the problem with themes, is that seriously could you write 4000 words of poetry on one theme...un;less it ws a BIG theme, like the wastelands or four quartets. the only way i could think of doing it (apart from a theme like 'life'), is by doing an epic or a narrative poem, which, i think, defies...
