How to effectively study for uni?

Thanks for the quick reply Sida! +1 for all those that opt for handwritten notes over devices!! woo!!:jump: As for my bridging course, i feel like they arent covering too much content (this may be relative as ive been exposed to a lot stressful work environments), and no they do not give out...

How to effectively study for uni?

Recently i have had a taste for uni life by attending a few lectures and tutorials for a bridging course. I noticed a few things from my experience; I seem to have trouble keeping up with the lecturer. I take down notes by hand (personal preference), and try to write as much as possible before...

Useless Physics Teacher and Ways to Teach Oneself

Physics in focus was definitely the best book from my experience. I managed to teach myself for a majority of the content relying solely on the book.

Thinking of repeating the High School Certificate, help!

Terrible idea. How can you be so sure that you will do well again this year? You also have to take into consideration that redoing the HSC again may put you back into depression and im no Doctor, but that does not sound like a great thing to do to your health and well-being. IMO, get into a...

Study in Australia (Need help in choosing Unis - International Student)

UNSW: You better be prepared to spend a lot of moola (living in Sydney is appalling expensive). However you can probably expect the greatest work and social experiences with NSW being the hub of Australia (fite me if u say otherwise). However, your 3 options for universities are all very up...

    Usyd timetable

Oh wait i know what you mean now... Some of my subjects have multiple classes, but the reason why i may have left them out in my timetable is because it happens something like this: EG~ MATH1001 R19A (9-10am) Wks 1-9 MATH1001 R19A (9-10am) Wks 10-13 And because of something like this... Ive...

    My first assessments sucked :(

Make a comeback in the remaining exams you have! I have known friends that did much worse than you in their term 4 assessments and slowly worked their way up to getting a 95+ ATAR! Just make sure you do not get demotivated because of this one result. If anything it should push you even harder...

How much can a 25% weighting assessment task affect you?

25% will be 1/4 of your internal assessments weighting so theres no doubt that it will have an overall impact on your final rank. However, if you can lift up your ranking for the remaining 75% of your internal assessments and also do well in the external HSC test, you will be fine!

How do you get over feeling competitive?

Think of it this way. The people with the drive and motivation - wherever the source of it has come from (for you, i guess its pure anger and distaste for the people in your cohort) can accomplish the biggest and greatest things in life. It is not wrong to want to beat the people in your cohort...

How do I succeed in these subjects?

Make critical dot points for all of your subjects. Since you have chosen pretty much all of the HSIE subjects, you will no doubt have a lot of notes by the end of the year and throughout your HSC - which is why it is essential that you make concise notes and only put in what is necessary...
