To the guys... Would u care?

You left out the word "current."

    Derivative/Equation of Tangent

    Just keep on moving the prime across. For example (uvw)' = u'vw + uv'w + uvw' and (uvwt)' = u'vwt + uv'wt + uvw't + uvwt'.

    Usyd V Unsw

dddman if you were so secure about your current position then you wouldn't have any reason to continually bag out UNSW or any other uni for that matter. Besides, your crap as scores won't get you a job anyway so which uni is better is really quite an irrelevant issue for you.

    ALP to abolish full-fee places

Why does it (40+% of the cohort being full fee) cheapen the degree? Money is not relevant to this particular issue since this is more about image. It cheapens the degree because from the beginning a large proportion of the cohort are of a lower academic standard. The degree would certainly not...

    ALP to abolish full-fee places

I don't really think that allowing full fee students to do the same course as a CSP student cheapens the course. However, that ends if 40+% of the cohort in a popular course are full fee paying students. In that case you are letting in too many less able students who didn't earn their place in...

    ALP to abolish full-fee places

The thing is, I don't want the quality of my education to be jeopardised in order to get rid of full fee places. Sure, I don't think that the idea of full fee places is at all fair. However, I personally couldn't give a stuff about people who miss out on HECs places because of the full fee...

First year meant to be the hardest?

I retract my references to 'average scores' as it is slightly misleading. I think you'll find the answer to your question for yourself as you progress through uni. Some subjects tend to reward effort while others have more open ended/subjective assessments which you could score highly/lowly in...

First year meant to be the hardest?

I agree with you there and this is especially the case in engineering, if you achieve top marks in first year. It does get more difficult to maintain high marks in later year subjects. However, if you're obtaining fairly average scores in first year then continuing to get average scores is not a...

First year meant to be the hardest?

Your first year marks are probably a good indicator of your scores in later years if you don't change your study habits, whether it be to study more/smarter or participate in more/less trivial extra curricular activities. Having said that, I have seen some people obtain very low scores (<65...

I need your honest opinions ppl!

I haven't transferred before but your ENTER is significantly higher than last year's cut-off (which is unlikely to change by much this year) and your average in your university subjects is well above the 'credit' cut-off which is 65. So based on your scores alone, IMO you're pretty much certain...

    I don't get INDUCTION!!

Sorry but I really don't understand what you're attempting to say in the last two bolded paragraphs could you please be less ambiguous? Are you saying that induction doesn't work? If so, why doesn't it work? The inequality (9)^n < 10n^2 is certainly not true for all natural numbers but it is...

    I don't get INDUCTION!!

    Statement is true for n = 1. Let k = 1 so that k + 1 = 2. Let k = 2 so that k + 1 = 3. Let k = 3 so that k + 1 = 4 and so on. You've shown that the statement is true for some integer in this case, the integer one. So what's wrong with the assumption that the statement is true for n = k...

You (Brad) forgot to answer the above.

    Arts marks

Gorgo31, where did you get the 7-12% figure from? I thought that scaling is generally not used in Melbourne's assessment system. I'm pretty sure that most of the scores I've obtained are my raw scores. Edit: Nevermind, I think I remember reading somewhere about allocation of grades to a...

What HSC Subjects if I want to do law?

Re: What subjects should I take if I want to do Law after high school? Looks like the 80 comment struck a nerve.

    Double Undergraduate Degrees

I just wanted to add that if don't want to pursue a career as an engineer then combining basically anything with engineering is a bad idea. Combined engineering courses (at melb. anyway) tend to focus primarily on the engineering component.

    Does age really matter??

    Age does not matter.
