interference and diffraction - braggs experiment

Cool thanks for all your help. I also have another question which is confusing me. Coul someone verify the following: Its in reference to the dot point: 4. Identify that resistance in metals is increased by the presence of impurities and scattering of electrons by lattice vibrations...

interference and diffraction - braggs experiment

no wait wait..hehe i said "leading up to the braggs experiement". That dot point was from Quanta to Quarks. I guess i didnt make myself clear. I was refering to Superconductors within the module "From Ideas to Implementation". Thanks though.

interference and diffraction - braggs experiment

In my edition of jacaranda hsc physics (edition 1), there are detailed explinations of diffraction and interference leading up to the Braggs experiment. It is necessary to know this (in such great detail) for the HSC? Also is it necessary to know the formula, I = vqAp? ------- Also i...

    group 3/4/5 atoms

Hey thanks for that. I'll just use the roman numeral method of writing the groups then.

    group 3/4/5 atoms

In the jacaranda book it says group 4 atoms are atoms which contain four electrons in their valency band, and consequently, group 3 and 5 atoms are atoms which contain 3 and 5 electrons in their valency band respectively. Upon looking at this site on wiki...

    arcsin, arctan, arccos?

Nuh i would think that the arc notation of inverse trigonometric functions is better. Like consider this.. sin2x = (sin x)2 but does sin-1x = (sinx)-1 So it creates confusion i guess because the notation is contradictory. Same with this: sin2x = (sin x)2 right so say f(x) = sin x...

    question about growth and decay

For questions involving growth and decay, can you just quote the formulae N = N0ekt, N = P + Aekt and etc. or is it neccessary to establish them using the expressions, dN/dt = k(N-P)? Cuz the proof is kinda confusing..

    further rates of change

    haha yeah alcalder is right. What i think we all did (well i did this) i got dv/dx = 20x, and dV/dt = 8 m^3/min So dx/dt = (dv/dt) / (dV/dx) = 2/5x. I did most of it in my head so i accidentally left out the x. x = 2. so dx/dt = 1/5 I think by putting that answer 2/5.. it...

hehe cool i think i get it now :D thanks!

    question about growth and decay

I think you missed the point of my question i said But a rate, is the change in something with respect to time (i.e. dy/dt). And by saying that dP/dt = 0.02P, that means that k is the "anual growth rate is 0.02". So yeah you didnt read what i said properly..

    JuaiSeek very innacurate?

You will need to download it to use it. You can find it here: http://community.boredofstudies.org/244/sam-student-assessment-modellera/72197/juaiseek0405.html?highlight=jUAI

    question about growth and decay

In the formula N = N0ekt, does k stand for the "growth/decay rate". Because i thought the rate was dN/dt = kN. But questions like the following: The population of a town has its rate of growth proportional to the polulation. If the anual growth rate is 0.02, and the original poluation is...

    easy motion

Nope not fitzpatrick, im using jones and couchman. The weird thing is though, i have never encountered so many errors like so close together before. Motion and physicy stuff must be their weak area then.. hehe..

    easy motion

This book is making me feel crappy.. again i have the wrong answer...dunno why though.. So if anybody doesnt mind..could you check this... :( sorry.... Thanks though to everyone who has contributed. A particle moves along the x axis with an acceleration given by a = 6t + 3. When t = 0, x =...

    easy motion

Yeah i got the same as what you had triangle dude. pLuvia, you made a small mistake, you divided incorrectly. Also could somebody please check this out.. i swear this book is screwy... Q2. The distance x meters at time t seconds of a particle moving in a straight line from a fixed point is...

    easy motion

ok i dont really have any problems but i think the books answers is wrong. just want to make sure is all. A particle moves in a straight line in such a way that its distance, x meters from a fixed point O, in the line after t seconds is given by x = 4t - 5t2 + 2t3. Find: d) The time when...

    question on a conics proof

Ok a question states: P(acos@,bsin@) lies on ellipse (std eqn.). THe tangnet at P cuts the x-axis at X and the y-axis at Y. Show that PX/PY = tan2@ and deduce that if P is an extermity of a latus rectum, then PX/PY = (1-e2)/e2. Ok i did part one no problems, but i would just like to see...
