The whole advanced sci thing is a gimmick. There are so many Adv Sci degree holders that I doubt that it counts for much...recruiters will have a flick through your results so i doubt whether "adv sci" really makes a difference.

There are people who do Honours in Maths and Physics in the general BSc degree. UNSW will be offering a BCom/BSc (Adv Sci) either next yr or the yr after that. It may not be that popular as not all Commerce students want to do Honours.

Stick with MATH1151 as you learn a lot more and get scaled a lot too. Also, Tacon can be quite entertaining at times.

Can anyone suggest any 3uoc science subject offered in Session 1 that involves programming/computing/modelling (any yr)? So far, I'm considering PHYS2020 Computational Physics. Anyone know much about this course or have any comments?

I reckon that all core CSE courses should be taught in C++ (for both procedural and o-o programming).

You can cram Discrete so it's ideal for bludgers.
