One for the sci-fi ppl: critical analysis on Isaac Asimov's "Foundation" series, HSC 2003. Understandably, you'll probably get more out of it if you're at least vaguely familiar with the books, but it doesn't really make all that much difference. alphatango.

Of course, if you can do *both*... :P I saw one critical response where the quote at the beginning of each section of the major work basically set the tone for that section and introduced the material in a couple of sentences...very effective *and* flashy.
