Doing more questions will definitely help with carelessness. But I think its more to do with the pressure during the test. You don't want to be too pressured during the test which will lose you the marks. But you want good pressure that will drive you on and help maintain your concentration...

Just make summaries as you go through the course. Will help you a lot in the long run.

moles is something not too hard to learn. I'd sugguest you learn it. Be a nerd and go up to your teacher after class to ask him. Ask someone in your class who got those questions right to explain it to you. 5 marks is a LOT of marks, especially when theres people getting 94% :P I got 92 :D...
