loose stock collected from aisles, shop floor, etc makes its way out the back where the damaged/thelf stuff is sorted out, stuff is reduced if it can be and is put in a trolley and taken up the front for frontend to put on the shelf when they are quiet. stock that is left at the registers is...

@liquor - If you need the toilet I ring frontend and get them to send someone over. If its been a while and nobody has come then I normally contact the duty manager and ask and if somebody still doesn't come over then I ring saying send someone over within the minute or I'll pull down the door...

Woolworths most likely doesn't pay (or pays a really small amount) to process EFTPOS transactions since they are a part share with Coles, banks, etc. of the company that runs EFTPOS in australia. As for the visa/mastercard thing even though the system allows stores to modify the ranges (eg: max...

ok then i change my stance about them using the stores wifi. new theory is they use some form of VPN possibly to provide store managers with remote access?

I personally hate that we put smokes on special. all it does is confuse ppl about the price because they buy from us one week and its 12.50 a pack (perhaps on special) and then come in a few days later with exactly 12.50 and strangly enough its gone back up to 12.80 a pack. it should just be...

Essentially what happens nanakid12 is the warehouse allocates money to the store as a percentage of the total value of all deliveries at a SAP level. So whilst you might count and see that the warehouse has short changed you a carton of smokes you wouldn't actually be able to claim it through...

All stores have had Wifi since we got the black RF guns (which replaced the old brick sized ones). The RF guns and new wireless VOIP phones run on Wifi so the iPads just become an additional client on the network. It would be interesting if managers can access Storeline Office office and CCTV...

Yeah, the new store email is most likely delivered by Google apps hence the Email link on the desktop in the latest store release which actually launches Google Chrome at the gmail login page. I had a bit of a play today and it also allows access to Google Docs which could come in handy for...

Sadly you cannot currently cash out leave. Also, i think with the new EBA there is a clause stating that you can only cash out holidays if you have more than 8 weeks. Your best bet at the moment is to just make sure you get paid for any days you have off work due to the medical costs by either...

I wonder if this means we will not see peter stiverson soft packs after 1st December. Also, just as a side note is it just me or does the american date format (Month-Date) seem to occur more and more in Australia. How you have October 1 and December 1 made me think about it.

pretty sure you'll find it did because we used to be able to adjust the volume of the PA in relation to the volume of the music using the dials on the PA amp and i can currently see the old cord where it used to hook into the old phone system. @iMatthew - What state are you? Because in NSW and...

I was pretty sure supervisors were Grade 3 because they supervise Grade 2 staff and that Duty Managers were Grade 4 because they supervised Grade 3 staff. That is my simplified understanding of the old system. Also can't say I've tried to transfer someone to the PA extension number. The release...

probably getting the software and stuff for the new EFTPOS machines installed on the registers so when they get switched over they can just reboot the POS and all should be good. also, i had a read of the EBA book. they have done a backflip in relation to the rest pauses. when i first started...

I wish my EFT preswipe disappeared. it annoys me in liquor and has led to me seeing a customers PIN on more than one occasion because they've entered the 4 digits in as the amount they want as cash out and hence it shows up on the screen.

I started on $6.73 an hour. My standard shifts were a 4-8pm trolley collector shift wednesday and saturday and i'd take home $53.84. Woot! At least the pay has gone up since then and then and they don't cut <21yr olds down by as much of a percentage as they used to. Also, regarding the EDR...

I enjoy duty manager shifts however i would be cautious to what roster they put you on. if they wanted you to work every friday and saturday night for example keep in mind that its incredibly hard to get a duty manager shift off if you couldn't work. it could quickly ruin your social life.
