    Just some more questions!

Unless they said you had orientation on Monday just turn up Tuesday. I'd bring some writing paper and pen unless they have told you to bring something specific. You have to pay so they are sure that you are a genuine student and that they will be covered by insurance etc. There are many...

    Bankcard Visa Mastercard

My Mastercard CC charges a straight 1.5% conversion commission and that's it. My bank ATM withdrawals worked out at I think $4.50 each while overseas which isn't a problem when you pull $500 in one go and space it out over time, you just gotta pace yourself. You used to make 20 atm withdrawals...

    Enrolment day

Some places have application tests before giving you the form, but basically first come first served unless application course so if you get there at 1:15pm and 20 people in front of you in line you might be on waiting list. If you have centrelink paying for our course (1 free a year) bring...

    Bankcard Visa Mastercard

You will find most banks slug you if you decide to use an atm that is not your own banks atm :) Ahh what a wonderful convenience from NAB I can transfer money to a high interest account and transfer it back before I need it via netbanking but not have one account that gives me 0 fees and high...

    Bankcard Visa Mastercard

Yes but once you get a dud withdrawal of say 3 grand that puts you in overdraft and happen to have an urgent bill to pay you will sit there red faced with one account while you try to sort it out or have to borrow the money from someone else. 5 withdrawals from any ATM anywhere a month is...

    Bankcard Visa Mastercard

I like keeping seperate accounts, if someone gets a hold of your visa debit your bank account is screwed at the same time until you sort it out. With a Visa/Mastercard credit it's only your credit you have to fix up and you still have your bank account to fall back on, same if your bank account...

    Employment scams

Anytime someone comes up to you and says you can make thousands of dollars a month by following their advice ask them why they are wasting their time cold canvasing strangers and not sitting at home relaxing on their wads of cash. When they tell you they like helping other people tell them to do...

    Tafe Hours of Attenance etc.....

Hours will vary even after enrolments, for example if class numbers are low they might reduce hours rather than cancel the class. Attendance is important, yes most teachers are lax but you better watch out for centerlink when audit time comes and you are found to be under the minimum...

    SE Asia next February

I am mainly staying in manila taking day trips around the place, I am thinking of heading down to cebu soon and up north a bit to baguio. It's not that bad, there's a guy with a machine gun or shotgun in uniform on nearly every street :)

    SE Asia next February

Heaps to do in Manila, having a ball here at the moment, met some expats from the US and Australia. Lots of places to check out as per the guidebooks and the expats will show you off the beaten track too. If you are staying with your cousins they might know some more local places. So far i've...

    Can i ask about pay?!?

If you don't ask you might get an unpleasant surprise and be wasting both your own nd the employers time, so ask.

    SE Asia next February

Yes if you go overseas you will have a far more interesting time than the binge drinkers who go to the same old places that hardly change and think they've done something unique. You might even be spoilt and be bored when you get home. Why are you so worried about security? Are you easily...

    SE Asia next February

I doubt you'll have any problems finding other backpackers or locals to hang out with they seem to be very tourist oriented countries. A few people I know spent months in SE Asia and they had a great time in Thailand everything was cheap and pretty safe but English was better in the Philippines...

    SRAS Letter

How can people with a higher UAI not get in? UAI cutoffs are only determined AFTER they know everyone's marks. So if they say pick 100 people and the lowest person gets a 50 UAI then the cutoff is 50 and anyone below won't get in, if the lowest person is 50 and you got a 60 it means you are...
