Apologies if what I said was insulting. I was simply quoting a person who did actuarial studies with econometrics. I believe he was making a reference to the fact that econometrics involves the application of principles in actuarial studies on a simpler scale. He described econometrics as a "WAM...
Ok, so right now, I am jumping between Actuarial/Sci and Actuarial/Finance.
The problem with Actuarial/Finance is that I want part 2 exemptions, and you can get those with a combined degree, which is shifting the balance to science.
When it comes to science there's a course in advanced...
Um I hear that the stuff covered in econ1203 is covered in a few weeks in math1251. So you'd be missing the stuff we're learning in math1151. I think you should try and change the course to math1151 otherwise you've wasted half a year... XD
Heya :D
First off, I <3 maths, it's the subject I'm best at and I actually understand it. Now with that out of the way, I want to be in a quantitative role in the financial world i.e. risk analysis and all that jazz. Basically my two loves are maths and economics so looking at companies and the...

I'm interested in the Math1151 book, do you still have it for sale.
Is it contacted and unhighlighted?
I applied for Comm/sci, but now I want to switch to swap to comm/eco.
The problem is that both of these courses come under the banner of Comm at UNSW and I was wondering whether I could change it at myunsw?
Thanks in advance :)
I'm hoping to transfer next year to comm/law and am fairly confident of getting in, given i missed this year's cutoff by 0.05. With comm/law im not sure whether I am majoring in finance or actuarial. So I'm wondering whether I should do Math1151 (Mathematics for Actuarial Studies and Finance 1A...
Mathematics
Though I'm planning on transferring to comm/law the next year, and I'm fairly confident I can make it given i missed the cutoff by 0.05
Planning on going into IB.
Is econ1202 a good elective? It sounds very interesting from the description, even though it isnt a comm/sci course. Well at least for me it sounds far more interesting than econ1203.
I'm doing comm/sci btw.
Darn!
I'm currently wondering whether I should enrol in courses now, because I want to be with friends in lectures and tutorials XD But apparently if you do get a late round offer, if you've already enrolled, there's a lot more paperwork XD
Lol I see what you mean, it's also partly because I want to attend law lectures with a special someone :)
Regardless it's a lot easier for me if i get straight in. Not to mention my parents will be infinitely happier XD
Thank you all, you make me feel more comfortable.
Though I really prefer not transferring, praying to straight get in 2nd round atm.
Credit average enough? I hope so, I'm so burnt out from the hsc, cant think properly anymore....
Ok, I shall accept the offer.
Still can't believe how the law cut off went up 0.15...I was expecting to come home happy...
Assuming I do get rejected from law, then with a D average in Comm/sci, is law in 2011 a definite in?
