IMO focus on UMAT first, then GAMSAT.
I went from a poor 50%ile to a borderline 80%ile.. haha!
so decent jump even though I was still the cut-off with my improved mark.
In the end of you manage to get an interview - if you do well in that, you should gain entry. =)...

Yes - they are both 3 yr degrees..
Apply for both undergrad unis (UMAT) and postgraduate unis (GAMSAT).
You can apply for medicine with any degree - it doesn't have to be science.
I would think that quite clearly a better avenue for transfer into medicine would be a 3 yr science degree over a 5 yr psych/law degree.
1. Medicine is heavily science based
2. 3 year degree opens up postgraduate opportunities faster
You can't defer an offer and accept another, you either defer and take a GAP year or accept an offer and do the degree.
You can, however accept the offer from UWS, wait for the Biotech one, if you get it - accept it and then disenrol from UWS.
If Medicine is your desired course, you should try as many times as possible and to all the medical schools in Australia.
E.g. You should ideally sit the UMAT in each of the years of your Medical Science degree and sit the GAMSAT twice during that period.
