    Help with short answer question

You could write a 20 marker on it (and I pretty much did in last year's HSC, that was my best section - my raw mark was 20/20). Quickly though: positive - facilitates domestic economic growth as the borrowed money would be a stimulus to the economy (e.g. the whole mining boom kind of line of...

Thoughts on HSC mark given for this answer?

I see what you mean - I didn't really tie things into the skills the individual has (that's what I was getting at - you can work out what you're good at then move to a country that's good at producing it, that's the basis for the international division of labour). I actually reckon that's where...

Thoughts on HSC mark given for this answer?

Hey guys, This was a question that after the exam many of my classmates as well as people on BoS seemed to find weird. 2015 HSC Economics 24 (a) - given 3/4: How does the international division of labour contribute to globalisation? Globalisation refers to the breaking down of natural and...

limit to drop to general maths

Thanks man! Yeah I reckon without dropping to general my ATAR would have only been around 97. It was a strategic decision cause it meant I wouldn't have to do any maths homework outside of class at all so I could bring english up (only got a 92 exam mark but still in prelim I was getting 60s on...

limit to drop to general maths

My friend dropped right before trials, and somehow ended up beating me overall in the HSC. Sure he got a bit lucky with what the exam assessed but you can get away with dropping late. Personally, I dropped right before year 11 yearlies.

    Economics Topic Order?

I even know a school that does Topic 4 first, then 3, 1, 2. Don't really get the logic there. The only thing that I like changing around from the syllabus is introducing the concept of supply and demand fairly early in the preliminary course

What are some really good case studies to use for HSC Business Studies overall ?

Yeah fair enough! Sometimes you do have to conform to internal requirements and how teachers mark internally, then adjust your strategy before the externals. No worries man, all the best!

What are some really good case studies to use for HSC Business Studies overall ?

I reckon that's the best bet! Plus if they tell you it's fine then they can't really mark you down, that would be so dog

What are some really good case studies to use for HSC Business Studies overall ?

BOSTES would probably say that it's a grey area based upon the school's interpretation of the syllabus. Not that they're correct in saying that, but they probably would. They wouldn't want to get involved. Rambling ahead: In saying that, I got marked down in a school based exam once and I...

What are some really good case studies to use for HSC Business Studies overall ?

Well, you definitely won't get discriminated externally - I made all of mine up, walked into the exam with 5 business names and roughly what they were about. I wasn't discriminated internally but some schools may incorrectly do so - with these kinds of things, I'd highly recommend asking your...

What are some really good case studies to use for HSC Business Studies overall ?

Yup. Never used a real case study in an exam. And it allowed me to tailor my case studies really nicely to the questions. You do need to have a pretty comprehensive holistic understanding of concepts though in order to do this :)

What are some really good case studies to use for HSC Business Studies overall ?

Some people say focus on the big ones, other people say build up a case study bank. My advice? You've got way better things to do then spend time on case studies. I probably spent ~2 hours on them throughout the whole year, which was pretty much just choosing business names the day before the...

China case study bad idea for state rank?

Ended up doing China as my case study, and I used it in the big short answer question. No wonder I was one mark off 2nd in the state :spin:

    Need a study buddy

I tried finding study buddies on here last year, didn't fully end up working but it could be worth a try. Otherwise, the best advice I got given around study buddies and study groups was that BoS is almost like one big study group in itself. And throughout my HSC journey I met fellow 2015ers...

Can you get away with failing Prelim Eco?

Yes you definitely can! It will require some extra work in year 12 though. And I'd make sure that going into year 12 you've got a good idea of the fundamentals - most notably supply and demand :)

    Always sleeping after school?

Develop consistency in your sleep routine - this will pay off big time. And I took a half hour nap after each one of my HSC exams cause I was so tired and had no energy for the next ones, so something similar after a normal school day may help. Otherwise, I always found that 20 minutes of...

    school rank impact

Hard to say. In general, a great cohort will drag you up, but when you're right at the bottom you're looking at potentially getting assessment marks of people that happened to stuff up the exam
