    Is this correct?

I entered your figures in the Commbank calculator (https://www.commbank.com.au/digital/home-buying/calculator/home-loan-repayments) and your calculations are correct! 👍 You could have done this really quickly instead of investing time typing out all your workings here to request a check.😁

    Is this correct?

It looks correct to me, in terms of setting out. I haven’t used a calculator to confirm the actual figures to 2 d.p.

I hope @jimmysmith560 will forgive this thread going off on a different tangent. It IS tough for your generation (I’m sorry), although I assure you that I haven’t coasted (twenty five years of formal study & training and my fair share of 70hr working weeks, a significant portion unpaid). I...

    LinkedIn help

What if you updated your account with details of your current position? Would that push the old position off the Intro section? If you are not currently in the workforce, can you describe yourself as a student in your current area of study? I must admit I’ve never changed my profile as I’ve held...

    Procrastinating

I’ve noticed there are two groups of members - those who log in seeking help and those who provide help (mainly tutors & others who have finished the HSC). You’ve contributed a lot of great solutions, helping others at the expense of your time. Best wishes for the HSC & future!

Challenging equation word problems Please help with these four problems

Three of these questions (b,c,d) have recently been posed in another thread on this forum and answered, although c) lacks sufficient information to reach a unique solution (https://boredofstudies.org/threads/challenging-equations-questions-i-need-working-out-please.394774/#post-7371932). For...

    Maths help

It’s kind of you to provide the solution but I think there’s a typo. The solution \frac{3\pi}{4} is correct but \cos(x+y)=-\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} |cosθ| < 1 I assume it was just a keyboard typo and you entered the correct value in your calculator(?)

    Maths help

It’s very kind of you to supply the solution - just one tiny omission of cos 84° in equation 5, which appears correctly in equation 6.

    Challenge equations (word problems)

    a) The highest common factor of 75, 105 and 165 is 15. Therefore, the sum of Tommy‘s purchases must be a multiple of 15. The largest multiple of 15 that is less than 700 is 690. When 690 is divided by 15, the quotient is 46. The respective quotients when 75, 105 & 165 are divided by 15 are 5, 7...

Challenging equations questions (I need working out please)

    a) The highest common factor of 85 and 51 is 17. Steve can produce any multiple of 17 by repeatedly pressing +, +, ÷ (+51+51-85 = +17). Since he can only ever add or subtract a multiple of 17, all of the numbers he is able to produce are multiples of 17. When 2003 is divided by 17, the quotient...

    Validity

Eliminate or minimise errors and/interferences such as wind draughts, any initial velocity at the time of launch (for example if you use a ‘run up’ to launch, horizontal velocity may vary at your origin) and keep the force(s) at launch (eg. from coiled tension) constant for each different angle...

What are the best Textbooks for:

I wonder if some authors rushed out new textbooks as quickly as they could after changes were made to the maths & science syllabi which might account for higher frequencies of errors. That’s why I only comment on previous editions (which I think are still good for the content still included in...

What are the best Textbooks for:

I tend to judge textbooks based on the number of errors in the answers as I think nothing hinders a student more than checking their solution and finding the textbook disagrees, causing them to doubt their understanding. Based on this criteria, the Jacaranda HSC physics textbook edition before...

How can i improve in math?

A really good one on one tutor might help. At least to close the gap between 5.2 and 5.3. Maths and science can be really elegant once you see how parts fit into the whole. Students are often taught maths & science subjects, from early primary, as discrete separate topics and so as idkkdi...

    writing my books

There are a few companies through which you can self publish a book with an ISBN. Otherwise, you can self publish an book through sites like Smashwords. Authors can set whatever price they wish per download of each book (the website gets a percentage). I think some authors release their first...

    Mod 6 neutralising acid spills

Since sodium hydrogen carbonate is amphiprotic, it can be used for both acid and alkali spills, which is highly advantageous in an emergency situation when there isn’t time to work out which spill kit to use, if different kits are kept.

Mid Year Progress for HSC. Need some direction

If 83 in MEx1 is an E4 and 80 in MEx2 is an E3, there doesn’t seem to be much of an incentive to study the (much) harder topics of MEx2. In 2015, my daughter studied MEx2. The ’class‘ group, comprising three students, went at the pace of the weakest student who was barely coping with 2U maths...
