    Legible Handwriting

People always tell my my handwriting is 'too neat for a boy'. It's actually not that neat. The reason is I moved primary schools, and subsequently got two pen licenses...I also missed out on learning to read clocks. But oh well, win some lose some. I know, the dreaded belonging. Sorry!

    Special Provisions

Quite a few do, it's handwriting related mostly. I'd say out of a fairly small year (60-70) we have about...5 people on special provisions. I don't think most private schools would, but mine certainly would. It's just really, really corrupt, and it's unfair to judge all private schools like...

    Special Provisions

This guy in my year got special provisions for our midyears and trials because his handwriting is 'slanty'. Such a joke, it's perfectly legible, he's just really epically shit at anything academic, but he got it. Not for the actual HSC though, because that wasn't in the hands of the school...

    Romanticism, people!

How'd you think it went? Thought essay question was so-so. Pretty simple, kinda just sounded like the syllabus regurgitated which is exactly what i wanted. Had quite a tenuous link to Wuthering Heights...but meh. Creative writing stimulus was heaps gothic-y, which suited my prepared...

Students with 14 units, advice and motivation

and makes the HSC hellish. Which it really isn't if you are strategic about your study. Having 14 units pretty much buffers any attempt to study strategically because there's just so goddamn much. Case Study time! --> A girl at my school started off the year with 14 units. She had won the...

    Atheism!

To be religious you have to be blissfully ignorant. Also, the concept of faith is built on human insecurity. Bring on the haters.

how much did you spend on your majors?

haha, everyone always asks that. Well, my first thought was just to steal them. So me and a few friends went to Target, and about half an hour into we realised it was the most impossible task ever. So a few days later I called up Target and asked them where they sourced their clips from, and...

Do you lose marks for having 2 related texts?

But they didn't. The question didn't say- use ONE related text, but feel free to go above and beyond the actual requirement, because you're used to using a second text. At the end of the day, the people who did 2 related texts should have played it safe and just answered the question.

My supervisor started laughing the first time she heard it, then looked embarrased. Then just raised her eyebrows over and over.

Do you lose marks for having 2 related texts?

Doesn't this all just boil down to the fundamental purpose of exams which is, in short, answering questions to the best of your ability? If a question asks for ONE related text, you answer the question with ONE related text. Not two, not three, not zero- one. You're answering the question to...
