That's right, of course! How could I miss it? *rolls eyes* You clearly asked because you had no idea and came up with year 13. You could've said "apprenticeships" in your first post but you didn't. End of story. I believe year 13 exists in NZ? Different people tell me different things about...

Anyone else feel that their school is behind with work?

lol It's replaced with our texts or something though, isn't it? So we can't exactly rely on a booklet now.

Most these days require you to have previous experience though. The most stupid ads I've ever seen is for waitressing. You need a certificate in Hospitality and 3 years experience. Excuse me, but how hard is it to ask people want they'd like to eat? For crying out loud!

I'm not sure about accountants, but for the health sector, certainly. The problem is that because it is hard to get into medicine etc, a lot of Australian students miss out. And then you have overseas graduates who are not allowed to work in Australia as dentists, etc. If they allowed them, I'm...

Funny, because you actually added year 13. Then you asked a question. Which Katie answered. Then you repeated her answer. How original. Why put into place year 13 and then ask a question when you already have a view?

Anyone else feel that their school is behind with work?

Yeah, 'cause they're not doing journeys. But I mean they can't exactly help us with the stim book because it's gone.

That's what I meant lol. The more people who stay, they more people who get an HSC etc might go onto uni and it screws up everybody else because there are too many people with professional qualifications when what we need is SERVICES not lawyers and doctors and accountants.

True. I honestly believe experience > expertise And I mean "professional" expertise (degree). You can learn the theory but if you don't put it into practice, it's useless. Why not skip to the prac in the first place? I'm seeing more and more people who graduate from TAFE get jobs because it's...

Anyone else feel that their school is behind with work?

It is a good thing. But it's still a test, something that's different from last year. So really, people who did the HSC last year can't exactly help us out. I heard though that for languages this year, Beginners will be able to (finally) use dictionaries. I don't know if this is true or not?

Just a bit on this... In Italy they have high rates of unemployment because it is amazingly easy to get into university. Everybody has a degree and employers are going to look out for the best of the best - ie people with experience. There is definitely a skills shortage, so I don't see the...

Seriously, how dumb are you? You just repeated what she said. I think more people should drop out and get apprenticeships. And the stupid UAI shouldn't include year10 cohort because they dropped out for a reason - they're not as bright so they wouldn't have got a high UAI anyway. In most cases...

Anyone else feel that their school is behind with work?

We were guinea pigs in year 10 for the SC computing exam. And we're guinea pigs for English this year, having the stimulus booklet withdrawn. They screwed up a lot for our year. I'm sure it's not as bad as it was for the class of 2001 though.

    Spanish 2008

Re: Spanish I finish a TP in 30-60min. It depends how slow I'm working. If I'm into it, I don't spend more than 2min per question. Beginners course moves fairly fast. I was thinking of picking up the Italian Extension course next year through OHS. Worth it? They don't seem very supportive.

Argh, you are so lucky! Nobody in my family or anybody I know speaks Spanish so I'm on my own lol. Butluckily, we got a new LOTE teacher now and she speaks Spanish, German, French, Japanese and she's learning Italian too! So it'll definitely help. I've been doing Italian since year 7 so like 5...

Would you ever have a relationship with a fat person?

Shrugs. I came across it 2 or 3 years ago. And I found a pic I saved the other day and it had the site on it. And I was like "ahhh, I remember now" lol :) I don't go looking for those things haha. But it's gross :S
