Different stores have different needs/requirements. That might be the case in your store, but in my store, leaving the SCO area is fine (considering service desk is few steps away) IF the conditions permit.. If it is extremely busy, dont leave unless it's urrrgent obviously. I wouldn't be...

You can, but it really won't matter. You can just take the money out of the machine at the end of night if worst comes to worst. anyway. Like I said, not only did my svr not care, she threw the piece of paper in the bin with "dont worry im not going to worry about those small amounts".

S/S = Smoke Shop SCO = Self Serve You serious? You can't leave the SCO area? :\ - Oh and we have the P.A mic hanging over into self serve area for the SCO attendant to use whenever, which is very handy. The service desk has the phone to do announcements on..

You should definitely not be opening the ATM area's (acceptor/dispenser) whilst there are any customers in the store. Go to the smokeshop/nearby register, get the money out of there. Write it on a bit of sticky note (how much you took out). Make sure you note exactly what register you took it...

That's a sexist claim and they can be sued for that. Why do you think guys serve at McDonalds and other places. Here's another one for you; "checkout chick".

Lucky she is getting any training at all, haha. I think you've basically covered it. One annoying thing I had to learn by myself is changing receipt rolls. Get her to do this over the duration of the night SEVERAL times, not just once. I GUARANTEE she will NOT remember how to do it if you just...

Looking forward to my 7 hour self serve shift tonight (3-10:30). Saturday is our dead deserted night (more then the other weeknights), so I bond with the supervisors and other staff a lot. Should be a great shift!

You said you were on 10.02 like me? In that case, you probably will get a pay rise to roughly $10 at 16.

Yeah, but according to her, she is on the same pay rate as me (16 and under in Victoria). I highly doubt they pay 14/15 year olds $10.54 an hour and still offer a pay rise at 16.

I said "16 AND under". That's what it is here in Victoria... My next birthday pay rise is when I turn 17.

    The Woolworths Thread

No, you will probably get one when you turn 17 as your pay rate probably falls under the 16 and under category.
