 What's the point in working?! $120 bucks, lol.... (well that's what it would be for me, less for states with an under 16 wage), geeze.

We'll make a barcode for that too. LOL.

Is there a law in states/Australia that prohibits junior employees from working past 11pm?

Well as I said earlier, when collecting registers at the end of the night, scanning a barcode and pressing 4 buttons as opposed to 14 buttons would be a big help.

A much less security issue if used in hard-copy AND only given to people who had SVR numbers to start with. Plus as I said, if it was hard copy card, and was on the person at all times, they'd almost notice it was missing instantly, if not, very quickly. The svr can just disable the card via the...

Never suggested that they should be approved before barcodes can be used, not sure where you read that. I said, POSSIBLY, svr's could check storeline to see what barcodes were still active after an operator has ended their shift and gone home (to cancel use of the barcode), but thats if every...

Indeed, I think.. If this was to work with supervisors, it would have to be a hard plastic printed card, because paper is too "risky - crap i lost it, oh well i'll just print another one", if that makes sense. Supervisors would very much benifet from this, but also possibly the smokeshop...

To be honest I don't think it matters re: "barcodes for select few SCO people who are responsible", most people in my store have SCO access to their numbers for no reason at all, and can easily do nasty stuff. What would be your views on a more permanent approach to this then? I'm talking about...

Well I don't think so. Most stores require SCO attendants to destroy barcodes every shift, so what's the difference?

But remember what I said about the expiration date on the barcodes (xx hours or 1 day, etc). Also, if they can be controlled from Storeline like saved transactions, then it will basically be safe enough as the supervisor looking at active barcodes could say "ok, blah's shift has finished *void...

Mmmm not necessarily. Just think of SCO. Everybody still has their own individual login numbers, except they have the choice to print a barcode for quicker login access if need be. This would come in handy in cases where you need to collect registers at the end of the night and stuff. So to...

You know what would be really handy.... It'd be nice if the barcode login approach was adopted globally within Woolworths/Safeway. Instead of having to type our numbers in each time, a quick scan of the barcode and we're in. Scanning the barcode when logged out does nothing. Scanning the...

Haha, we also have several stores approx 10 minutes away, ours probably being the smallest of them all (shopping centre woolworths). We only have 12 registers on front end, including smokeshop (excl. liquor). One of the stores up the road to ours is still flat stick busy at 10pm, lol.

We made $109,000 sales today. That is really good for us (I laugh how some stores make 1 million during busiest parts of the year)
