Yeah, everything uses standard cables these days. Power adapter will be the pricey one - the male/male cables are cheap and easy, however.

There is a friction purely because of the type of pen. Anything that isn't ground metal will have a significant amount of friction, to me.

The problem with felt-tips, though, is that the material has a certain resistance to the page - I find the friction irritating.

Well, it does look a bit like a rant when you decry other people's writing styles as "wrong" (such as my running-write/print hybrid) when they genuinely may not be. People's writing styles evolve with time and maturity, to best fit their speed and neatness.

Then you should probably be ranting at the teachers that instruct students in correct pen usage, right? And what is "correct" letter formation - "Foundation" as according to NSW DoE? I think that is incorrect. I do not think there is one correct writing style for everyone, one correct style...

It shouldn't, no. It may need a cleaning - take it apart and give it a good rinse under water - or maybe it's just a crap pen. I've never personally heard of Rotring. When you fill it with ink, do you invert it, tap it and pump out the air bubbles?

- I used mine in the school certificate and the HSC, and I did a lot of very writey subjects (4U English, Ancient History..) - Of course I write on both sides of the paper

- fountain pens are awesome - ink cartridges are not that expensive, and if they are, then pay $16 for an inkwell that will last you a year and a half - bleeds through pages? News to me, as I have been using them on all sorts of paper for almost a decade now

Seconding the Dell. Dell computers may be iffy but their monitors are top-class.
