Not currently, no. I'm contemplating enabling such a feature, but I think it would inhibit negative feedback.

    reputation - new feature

I can't ruin all the fun. :D Avatars and custom titles have now been fixed for moderators too. We could potentially enable an option which allows you to see who approved or disapproved of your threads... I'm not (yet) convinced that it's necessary, though.

    reputation - new feature

The influence you can exert on another member's reputation depends on a number of factors. :) Votes of certain types of users, and of users who have met certain criteria, will have a greater effect.

    Forum upgrade

Rest assured - quick edit and quick quote will both be returning at some stage. I've made some changes in an attempt to fix custom titles. They should take effect within the hour. (It will mean that normal registered users who meet the requirements will be promoted to a new group of 'Super...

    reputation - new feature

It's a feature we're trialling. You should give and take reputation based on the usefulness of a user's post. Members who have been around for longer and have more posts will have a greater effect when they approve or disapprove of other members. You can use the feature 10 times per...

    Can't access SAM.

Yes - we'll have it fixed ASAP. Apologies.
  7. Lazarus

Where do u get the SAM data?

Yes, but they were generally used as testing data, not training data.
  8. Lazarus

    Forum upgrade

Okay, I've fixed avatars. I'm uncertain as to whether custom titles are able to be changed.

    Forum upgrade

I've attempted to fix some of the more annoying problems. We'll get round to the major issues soon. Avatars really should be working - I have no idea if/why they're not.

Where do u get the SAM data?

There are a number of documents... some were online, some were in libraries.
  11. Lazarus

Where do u get the SAM data?

No, SAM uses more than just Table A3. It was also vBulletin, but v2.0. We haven't yet finished customising this version.
  12. Lazarus

Where do u get the SAM data?

Yes. All data was obtained from documents produced by the Board of Studies and the Technical Committee on Scaling. Whilst they're all publicly available, they're not all easy to obtain. That isn't difficult to do... most developers of UAI calculators seem to take that approach. Initially, at least.

    UAI estimate

Yes, you do have a reasonable chance. You should do all that you can to turn that into a 'pretty good' chance though.

    English Ranking/Scaling dilemma

You can always improve your moderated mark by ensuring that your class as a whole performs well on the HSC exam.
  15. Lazarus

    UAI worries

Those ranks are all but meaningless without the name of your school.

    dilema with physics n BST

This is an extraordinarily bad example, because it implies that it is harder to get 85 in Business Studies than it is to get 75 in Physics. You cannot compare aligned marks between courses.

    :D There's actually a special 'reverse' character. ;)

Board Of Studies reveals raw marks - 2003

That only occurs in 2U English, where one student is taking Standard and the other is taking Advanced. In every other course, the same raw mark will result in the same aligned mark and the same scaled mark.
