    ITT: FML I hate uni.

I've just made a list of what I need to revise on just for the first half of my maths exam. The list alone is two pages long :( ...and now to write a similar list for the second half...

    Catholic Studies

As Catholic Studies is a Board Endorsed Course, I think it just says you've completed it rather than giving a mark.

HSC & Student ID etc ..

You should never have two student numbers. If the student number on your Record of Achievement from last year is different from the details you have this year then you need to contact them to get it corrected.

How to get your raw marks / Raw Marks FAQ

Last year I claimed my raw marks for a course I did in 2004... You can get your marks at any time - the Board has records dating back a long, long, long time. Exam papers are generally destroyed within 6 months of marking, however.

    How to Close/cancel account?

This is correct - generally accounts can't be deleted, however they can be banned permanently if that's what you want.

    No Money in Law !?

Most Law students I know are doing a combined degree and don't particularly want to enter the legal profession. They'd be more interested in politics or diplomacy or some other area altogether. It's rather a lot of effort for a degree they won't explicitly use, but I guess they still get general...

    Raw vs. Moderated/Scaled Marks

You can't tell - if there was some simple conversion table, they wouldn't have to do moderation. The whole point of the process is to account for the differences in the way different teachers grade students.

    2010 Semester 1 Chatter Thread

Stop letting facts get in the way of our flawless arguments :p Then again maybe if I weren't wasting time on BOS I'd be more likely to pass MATH1115...

    Raw vs. Moderated/Scaled Marks

Your initial assessment marks which your school sends in are unmoderated and unaligned. The BOS then moderates the marks using your cohort's raw exam marks, then that mark is aligned to the band standards in the same way as the exam marks - does that make any sense? :/

    Taking Exam Day off

You should ring the school to advise them. If the illness is enough to mean that you really can't do the exam, give them the medical certificate and they'll organise a substitute assessment. Similarly in the HSC you would lodge an Illness/Misadventure Appeal.

    The importance of "Legal Studies"

I don't do Law, but having seen some of what the law kids are doing right now, doing Legal will just mean that you learn slightly less in the first semester than everyone else. I'd imagine after that it won't be much help, so it really isn't an advantage. edit: That said, Legal is an awesome...

    Disadvantaged school

In future please create a new thread for your questions instead of hijacking someone else's. If your school is categorised as disadvantaged, it doesn't affect your marks, but under the Educational Access Scheme the universities will normally add extra points onto your ATAR when considering you...
