As someone who changed their tutors in Week Five, it is a bit of a hassle trying to tell your original tutor that you changed classes, your new tutor about your participation mark / compulsory attendance. However, it didn't change who was marking my essays. My original tutor marked mine. After...

I've heard some very bad things about BBA102. Was it really that bad?

Well my plans post uni... are so unrealistic lol. The dream is DFAT, but really anything involving: -Writing, communications on an international level. But I hate the journalism / media industry, you know? I'm just really good at being critical, lol and so many people have suggested journalism...

Ah, I'm a 22 yr old and I'm a first year student... :frown2: The lecturer for one of my subjects was like 'you are all 18' and I was in the front row, slowly shrinking... But in all seriousness, the idea that people graduate after 3 years is just... becoming more irrelevant. Things happen...

Macquarie gives you the option to rearrange your timetable and swap classes. You could probably do 2 days of full on Commerce- but the lectures are pretty scattered throughout the week. Still, there is the iLecture option.

Thanks, I posted this question on iLearn and the response I got was that I would be allowed to take my bag in. The exam isn't on the timetable, it's just in the usual lecture room. Glad I know where it is!

I have an exam tomorrow. Do normal examination rules apply (like not being able to bring in bags) or is it different as it's only one hour and outside of the examination period?

Questions on People and Planets unit

Depends on the degree. Some majors / courses have PACE units as compulsory units (for example, a major in Philosophy has a PACE unit as part of the course and it's compulsory whereas some degrees like Bachelor Of International Studies have an internship unit which you can count as your PACE unit...

Questions on People and Planets unit

I've heard good things about the Astronomy units in terms of ease. 'Big Ideas In Science' personally intrigues me, might do it next year. It's a pretty well established unit, and would like to hear to some perspectives about it.

I suppose a plus is that we get more time for holidays / breaks. It would be very interesting to see if students would be willing to give up a week of their mid-semester week if it meant a study week. But I doubt that'll happen due to MQ's emphasis on external students, who use the 2 week break...

Sadly, I think we go straight into exams. Even just... a week would be nice. Hopefully the 'new topic' for you is rather light on content. Alot of unis do give breaks- and probably more should.

GLP- simple to get into. Just sign up on Thrive, fill out the form. Any undergraduate student can do it (there's another program for postgrad) so don't worry about entry requirements  I'm thinking of doing it next semester, sounds good! (alot of work though, but it could be worth it)

    Re-using assignments for a unit.

Not according to many lecturers and tutors at Macquarie who told me and my class not to do it. I was quite surprised this week how many put emphasis on it. Better to be safe than sorry, imo.

    Re-using assignments for a unit.

You might. The university considers it plagarism even if you hand in a previous assignment you have done. What you are talking about is quite risky, and I understand you are short for time, so I'm going to suggest something. Remember what skills and ideas you used to get full marks. As you...

    Bonus Points?

We'll leave it at that. 'prestige' didn't play a role in my decision, but knowing people who went to Macquarie and had a good time helped my decision. Plus, its close just a simple walk and a bus for me. You don't need a huge, epic reason to pick a uni, imo- the important thing is that you know...
