    Is This Year's HSC Easy?

are you sure about 3u?that test was MUCH easier than 2011. most people in my 3u class found it fairly easy, even the "weak" students (and I'm at a 100+ ranked school). Maybe the parametric put people off because it was different. Just hope physics is normal. no crazy shit.

    Level of detail.

this. e.g. for planck/einstein and black body, none of the text books / teachers explain it properly. even past hsc answers. ".. planck hypothesed e=hf and that solved every problem we ever had.."

    Level of detail.

Also, for BCS theory, i think its wise to stick to whats in most text books (adjacent electrons create cooper pairs) rather than saying cooper pairs can form from different lattice "levels" (which, according to some syd uni guy is "true") Its a theory after all, many believe its absolutely bs.

    Help Me!

the change in magneetic flux at that point is the greatest hence greatest emf since emf= delta phi/delta time You can draw up a curve to help visualise

    n-type doping question

    more free electrons--> more conductive.

    Photoelectric effect

work function is under photo electric effect which falls under planck/einstein's contribution to quantum physics etc (as far has HSC goes).

    Application to Selective High School

try north syd boys, i think everyone gets to do the entrance test which basically determines if you get in or not.

Most Common & Random Forms of Procrastination (2012)

ARROW IS SOOOO GOOOD. can't wait for new episode and hope it doesn't get cancelled.. LOL same mate, i only started suits yesterday, almost finished first season. but it is sort of motivating me I guess.. getting me attracted to law. I wouldn't really say I'm procrastinating, I'm just...

Most Common & Random Forms of Procrastination (2012)

watching tv shows on the net for me. the last 4 days. That is all I've done. (good luck to me for physics)

    General Thoughts: Biology

but everything was from the syllabus. hence a valid biology test. Except that smoking crap and data analysis things, don't know how that fits into the course.

    Physics marathon (hsc)

ohh yes, the inverse square law, completely forgo :(. In that case it would decrease, since less photons reach the junction--> less electrons excited (considering frequency satisfies work function) btw, what was the answer to the cannon question? sounds interesting

    Physics marathon (hsc)

is this in a vacuum? then it wouldn't effect the current as light will still have the same strength--> same number of photons reaching the p-n junction--> same current? not sure.

    Physics marathon (hsc)

yeh i guess. I think it says that in physics in focus?

    Physics marathon (hsc)

I guess you could say that, But I'm not really too sure about the whole "bulging" thing. As something1 and I said, it probably has more to do with the centrifugal effect. edit: just realised i said "value of g decrease" -I meant increase due to less fling off Yes please, no long responses...

how hard is it to get 95?

Yep, for low ranked schools, its all up to you. Mine is ranked 125 this year (was like 200 last year) and highest in phy was 96 so definitely not bad. But generally speaking, as others said, only if you are solid you will get around that mark. (by solid, I don't necessarily mean "good at...

    Physics marathon (hsc)

    a) decrease due to lower "fling off" effect (centrifugal effect or something) b) stays the same since the distance between the poles and centre mass is the same Assess the impact of advances of knowledge about superconductors and semiconductors on the development of MRI (7 marker). - can...

    Part-Time jobs!

I have friends who work there so I'm not saying its bad, but if you are like 18/19, its much better to work somewhere else in terms of pay. I got into kings cross Mcdonalds btw. did the intro and everything with the manager, but then didn't go lol. would prefer working at K-mart/coles And...

    Getting marks in the HSC

think about it. Why should someone get marks for not answering the question? Even if it is the most perfect essay in the world, and barely answers the question, definitely not a A/B range. don't know specifically for ancient though but hope your essay answered the question in some ways :)

    Can't concentrate!

yesss! I'm not the only one. I feel like I have waaay too much time. (phy) didn't do anything for two days. TRYING to study today but keep procrastinating :/ Also, I have this thought that my required atar (94) is already set (I doubt it- english + handwriting, could be a disaster), making me lazy.
