I was wondering if you're a casual and rostered on but don't get a call to come in, do you still go to work?

What clubs and societies did you guys join

I joined EGG, probably will only just go to the weekly consoles on the concourse during my breaks. The communist/socialist clubs seem to the most active, although there's like 3 of them for some reason. I always see them putting up their posters or handing out flyers.

    2012 UTS Orientation Day

Offical welcome was a waste of time; half of it was an aboriginal dance. Science faculty welcome was ok, with the talk by the program director being somewhat useful; interesting to find out that chem 1 has a high fail rate. Heh, for some reason the light kept turning off while we were in a...

Hrm, due to uni I mostly can only work in the evening. Someone else suggested that I try to get shifts in deli or seafood as it's easier and less stressful than checkouts. Anyone here work in those departments?

Post your Sem 1 - Autumn 2012 - Timetable Here!

I'm doing Science and International Studies, I'm not too sure yet what to major in but it's something in the life/environmental sciences. Biotech though is one I've been contemplating.

    Trouble with subject/choices/units

I believe first year is a foundation year in which everyone in the same stream (life/environmental sciences or physical sciences) does the same subjects which comprise of 48cp. Then for your following years you can choose what to major in. http://handbook.uts.edu.au/courses/c10242.html

All you had to do was write about a high school experience and how it affected you. Only was about 100-200 words.

Hrm does the sunday loading stack with the public holiday loading making it triple time (plus the 20% casual loading)? EDIT: Nevermind, my shift tonight was also cancelled :(

Heh, my manager cancelled my shift for tonight :) Probably one of the only times when I'll be happy for it to be cancelled. They better not cancel my NYD shift though.

    The Woolworths Thread

Hrm, turns out I got overpaid for 3 hours this week. I asked a couple people at work what I should do and they all said to don't worry about it, as they often screw up and underpay people and take months to fix it, and if they do notice they'll just deduct it from my pay next week. In other...

    The Woolworths Thread

Heh, I guess I can start posting here since I've recently got a job in nightfill at my local Woolies as now I've got nothing to do all day. The work seems easy enough; just gotta learn where everything is. My next rostered shift is in 2 weeks, so I'll be playing the waiting game to see if I get...
