Grid Book or Lined Paper?
This exactly. Personally I use lined paper now, because it makes my writing way more legible, and preparation for the exam.

Best Study Guides?
For Chem, the best study guide is fantastic note-taking in class, unfortunately. I am yet to find a half decent study guide that doesn't skimp on particular areas.
