should i drop maths ext 2

Scaling in 4U is phenomenal. A mark of approximately 85 is equivalent to a low-band 6 in a subject like biology and it's a hell of a lot easier to get 85 in 4U. Also, the RAW marks people get for Extension II are probably not what you expect. Past trends say you need about 80/120 to be certain...

Who hasnt made up their mind?

Going off-topic a bit, if you want to learn a language to deal with the Chinese economy - learn Mandarin. Cantonese is useless unless you want to deal with Hongkies or overseas Chinese - and most of them know english anyway. Most people in the mainland cannot speak Cantonese or English for...

Belonging - 2 supp texts okay!

I disagree, if there's enough controversy and disagreement from students, teachers and educational advisers, the Board will be inclined to alter or at least take into consideration the proposals given. Especially if their current stance alters the question given in the exam. Well, if you...

That was the easiest Physics exam I've seen so far.

The theoretical part of the exam was easy, I think most of the state would agree with me on that. But the calculations in the exam compensated because they weren't just plain calculations like usual, they required strategic thinking and logic.

    Band Cut offs?

The exam didn't seem that maths based to me, I mean yes there were calculations, but you still had to know your stuff. Overall a decent exam, not as easy as past years though (2006,2007,2008).

Hey all physics students < look here>

    Use P = VI to calculate the Power In and Power Out i.e. Pin = (6x10^3) x 10 = 6 x 10^4; P out = 240 x 230 = 5.52x10^4 Minus the powers and you get the power loss to be 4800W. Then using E = VIT, you know VI = 4800 and time is 8 hrs So E = 4800 x (8x60x60) = 1.382x10^8

    funky question

What I do is I try and predict the answer in my head first, by using my own thought experiments :p Like I think to myself - moving clocks run slower, or moving objects contract, or moving objects become heavier, then I try and manipulate my answer - may seem weird but it works for me
