    Highest UAI '09

Shouldn't be too hard. If your school accelerates, then most of the strong Year 12 students would be doing Extension 2, or would've kept their 2U mark.

Is it true if your class is dumb they will pull your hsc mark down?

Haha yeah. Well that group as a whole wasn't dedicated. That's probably why we dropped from 126 to 250 last year.

What study did you do today?

Well than use that as your motivation to study. People usually end up doing good things, based on a downfall, for example, if you stuffed up the previous assessment, you'll strive to work harder to make up for it.

    plans for this 'holidays'!

Yeah, we got heaps of study done last time. Maybe before the HSC then.

Is it true if your class is dumb they will pull your hsc mark down?

Yeah, he wrote his name, then answered like the first two questions of the first section, then he went to sleep.

Are co-ed schools better than same sex schools or vice versa

I've been at an all boys school since Year 5. I haven't been to a co-ed high school so I don't really know, but my coaching college has boys and girls in one class, and I personally don't see much of a difference. We talk and socialise normally and everyone's still pretty focused. So yeah, I...

    Study Discussion

Re: FUCK, we all know how to work hard, but how do you I can't understand why people can't work with distractions. For example, MSN is a big distraction for me, but my solution is to appear offline and tell nobody that I'm actually signed in, then after I've done all my studies, I appear...

Is it true if your class is dumb they will pull your hsc mark down?

From experience, You won't get affected, well not significantly anyway. Last year when I did my HSC, someone only got 3% in their trials for 2U. I was ranked poorly, but I did alright in the external examination and I managed to get a Band 6. Also, just because you're ranked well, doesn't...

How long would it take to learn a whole syllabus

To perfect, you need a lot more time. One week is to cram all the information into each syllabus point blindly.

What study did you do today?

Same here. I think I studied consistently over the holidays, not too much, just a little everyday. As for the half yearlies, what I get is a reflection of my studying. I don't mind what I get, cause even if I do bad, it just means I have to study harder and smarter. However I ended up bludging...

How long would it take to learn a whole syllabus

Hmm, well full notes on the syllabus... if you just sat and summarised a textbook which followed the syllabus correctly (such as Jacaranda Physics)... I would say a week.

    plans for this 'holidays'!

I would've planned it, like I planned the one in the summer holidays, but you guys had your Chatswood meetup, so I saw no need.

    Hsc 2009 Dates

But like, I'd rather get english over and done with first and having business on the first day means you can't prepare as much for english.

    Need advice =)

You shouldn't just aim for 99 because the rest of the people on this forum are. To get a UAI of 99 is incredibly hard and it only looks like everyone's aiming for 99+ because most of the members who post a lot are some of the state's achievers (for example we have accelerants who came first in...

Do we read Frankenstein as a warning of the dangers of 21st century science?

Well reading it as a ghost story and writing that in an essay won't get you very far in the HSC. Essentially, it's a warning about the issues such as Cloning, Human Advancement etc. It's the same with Bladerunner. Both texts act as a warning to human society and by comparing both texts you'll...

    Hsc 2009 Dates

Re: HSC Exam Timetable I'm hoping I have a nicely spread out timetable, but I've come to realise that the HSC is a real bitch, so I'm kinda expecting a dodgy one.

    Journeys Question - HELP!

Well for the first part, I'd clearly outline the (I think three) aspects of journeys (I'm not too sure because Journeys wasn't my focus AOS) - imaginative, physical and emotional. Then you would analyse the text, clearly outlining and explaining how the text represents one or more of these types...
