I don't think interviews are selective, my school sent a girl to Oxford in 2007 (she topped Law there this year) and my friend is over in England interviewing for Oxford at the moment.

This. Tbh, not so much of a shock for top students - most just go at the same pace (ie. working hard). In fact some people I know chill out and are even more relaxed while continuing to do well.

I'm not sure about HSC results (as in the HSC Marks/bands etc), but I'm almost certain that universities are made aware of our ATARS before we get the notification (so the can make offers and such)

Oh - I didn't notice. My apologies Btaylor. From talking to my Melbourne friends, I got the impression that Year 11 didn't count for the VCE either. In any case, I'm sure that you can definitely pull up your marks and make Year 12 the best academically. Trust me, lots of people peak in Year...

I'm pretty sure the board DOES allow equal ranks - last year (I accelerated a subject) 3 people were on rank 1 on Assessment notice (myself included).

Yeah - there are many of us because Arts faculty covers a whole range of things apart from just "Arts" (ie. the social sciences, alot of the combined Laws..) no letter pour moi yet. :uhoh: Aerath: Well since they have to send us a letter, I wouldn't take no letter as bad news (ie. rejection)...

sigh. annoying aye? well, considering Arts is the biggest faculty (with ironically the least amount of scholarships)...perhaps they're taking their time.

Well kids, however we went, History Extension HSC marking ends tomorrow. Which I suppose means that our fates are all more or less decided by then (historically speaking anyway).

if the OP is still around... I would say for starters, English is compulsory in order to teach basic things like spelling and grammar. ;)

facebook?! ;) lol, I was slightly bored, all this time to kill... And I agree, with a subject like Philo where you're encouraged to argue and assert opinions, you do get rather...assertive types. Though by Residential 3 we were all ignoring the lecturers and either - sleeping, playing...
