Customer Annoyingness as a function of time

I'd suggest that, for 1 < x < ~5, the annoyance factor is relatively high, because of all the screaming, crying, awkward questions, and petulant behaviour. Naturally, this would be very difficult to put in the equation.

Woolworths to take on 7000 more staff. Our Fearless Leader used it as a segue to criticise (rightly) the Bonds layoffs: http://www.abc.net.au/worldtoday/content/2008/s2503131.htm

Just got my transfer to grocery approved - fully agree with you, except for the freezer part - had to do that a couple of times, and it sucks.

I really don't think Woolworths can do much about such incidents, unless they own and operate the carpark. If it's a shopping centre or shopping mall-like setup, Centre Management are the people to talk to. Most carparks nowadays will have a disclaimer of non-liability anyways, but talking to...

It was busier than normal during the mid-afternoon for us, I guess, but after about 6pm it was as dead as it normally is.

Re: The Official A-League Thread. Ironically, for interstate-based fans of the two sides, it actually made life easier to get to the ground for the GF - although it doesn't mean that the FFA weren't twats for having it at Bluetongue.

Re: The Official A-League Thread. They are, which is farcical. Viddie didn't have a crack at the FFA, its' referees, or the opposition - this was purely internal, and it didn't bring the game into disrepute - the club, maybe, but clubs in disrepute aren't the concern of the FFA Oversensitive...

    Rules for Customers

Woman, of southern European descent, although that quite frankly is irrelevant. Store Trading Manager went over and explained to her that slapping employees was totally out of line and if she repeated it she would be forcibly ejected from the store. She first denied she did it, but when the STM...

    Rules for Customers

When I don't do something for you because I'm not trained to use said equipment, and explain this to you, you do not have the right to slap me on the back of the head and patronize me by calling me "boy" as I'm walking to PA someone who can help you (having just explained that I would go and PA...

Re: black vests, just buy plain ones from Target - $24 in the Mens section. I've found stock a little intermittent over here in SA, but every now and then when I walk in they have my size (Small) - most of the time they have some M's and L's in stock, but S's seem to be the most popular. You...

Yeah, it's a bit trashy imho. Needs the refurb done, plus their freshies look...well, not fresh at all. Nothing the employees can do about it, it's just old and rundown generally.

Thanks for that, Townie. Much appreciated. Next shift should a very interesting one, indeed :) One last question: I need to order a new Woolworths vest (the black one with the embroidered logo), because my current one's looking very worn and sad. Do new clothing purchases come with the new...

Townie and others, I was just wondering, say an employee wishes to transfer departments, the new department manager agrees/wants it to happen, the Store Manager is happy for it to happen, yet the current department manager disagrees, what the procedure is? Is it a case of two weeks wait after...

They wouldn't allow me to take it any point within that period because we had temporary management in place of my regular manager who is on annual leave, and when I told them that was complete bullshit and that they will lose an employee and gain a massive PR headache if they even try to pull...

I'd be inclined to print two copies, one addressed to your manager and one to the Store Manager. You can always put the SM one in an envelope and leave it in his/her desk, if you aren't comfortable handing it to them directly.

My SM and office cashier are on my manager's case about me having too many TOIL hours. The thing I can't understand is, why? Why should they care? *glances at Townie for enlightenment* Also, townie, what's the most TOIL hours someone in your store has? I don't think I have that many (a week...

It depends on what sort of work you plan on doing, which depends on the sort of manager you have; it will either be good, because you will transfer from being more hands on with filling etc. to being less hands-on with managing the 7 employees and doing system stuff (whereas ata smaller store...
