    Devices for University

still seems like a bit of a waste of money - even if its only say 1 or 2 hundred a year, leaving aside the waste it creates for the environment not to mention electronic annotations are so much neater and harder to crumple etc. but to each their own

SMH article on HECS vs upfront

could invest in an ETF on the ASX (very diversified), a term deposit (very poor returns currently) or ask your parents if you can pay off their mortage and receive say 1% less than their interest rate. If you have enough maybe even one of those new peer to peer lenders. But youd probably need...

im assuming youve got dullin. in which case yes that is definitely okay haha i never went to any 1901/03 lectures or watched online and got a D. im not amazing at maths either but you just have to be doing those tute questions and looking over notes they put up. going lectures would probably...

what do you mean?? i quite like it. the layout is nice, graphics are good, its a week earlier than normal which is perfect for me to pick my classes and organise work. the usual pick when you want free is there which works fine for me; i just picked the 2 days i wanted free for work, moved a...

    Econometrics

plus if you leave the country, no more debt. and dont bring up the gvmts supposed attempts to get 50 countries around the world to give them info regarding australian's income and then legally enforce they pay australias debt for them

hahha what are you on about? sida explained the elavation. also i'd imagine its a better view from higher up. USyd in general doesnt hand out bonus points like candy. Average Usyd law atar - 99.1 vs. Unsw average law atar - 97.7...

man in the same boat. even changed my stream to advanced maths at one point but without scaling anymore (or not very good scaling) im gonna give all advanced units a miss i reckon. normal is less work for better marks. while id be super keen to learn the adv material and do the extra work, just...

Medical science usyd or advanced science unsw for post grad med or undergrad transfer

Re: Medical science usyd or advanced science unsw for post grad med or undergrad tran i think undegrad med is overrated. in the end it's only a 1 year difference (3+4 vs 6 years) if im not mistaken. obviously if you do get an undergrad offer then definitely strongly consider taking it...

Sydney uni to reintroduce maths prerequisites

theyre not exactly setting the bar high with 2unit maths for subjects that require more maths (eco, comm, engo, science etc.)

USyd comm on par with UNSW comm? pros and cons?

bit out of date with the buildings, but the other stuff is pretty much 100% spot on

    Is usyd worth it?

i'd be leaning towards no, the extra year would not be worth it. it might be if your first year at uni was crap markswise or you hate macq but doesnt sound like either are the case. might be best to just stay at macquarie and finish in 2 years time
  17. P

    Is usyd worth it?

so that would be an extra semester? i.e. 3.5 years instead of 3 years i think yes it would be worth it, as long as you dont hate uni and are very comfortable with spending the extra time at uni to compensate for not being at a Go8 uni youd need higher marks and a touch more work experience i...

    BUSS1020 / MATH1905 Help

had the same question as you, I'm doing FMAS. i would say, FMAS (or stats) + econ is far better than an econometrics major. econmetrics is basically stats applied to economics. depends on your interests, ecmt1020 which is part of the econ major will give you a good idea of econemtrics...

    BUSS1020 / MATH1905 Help

it does say it, but its just bs. i reckon to get some more money cuz 6cp > 3cp. imo do math1005 or 1905. 1905 is quite tricky from what i heard (a few poor-avg marks) and also killed a lot of ppl's desire to do stats. it gets a lot better in 2nd/3rd year though i did buss1020 and regreted...
