    The Woolworths Thread

My store is starting Homeshop next month. We were supposed to be starting before christmas but it got delayed. Its a whole seperate dept, with its own managers and staff. We have 40 Homeshop staff, though some do checkouts shifts as well. They are all casual because we don't know how its...

What happens if i save all my centrelink payments?

You can still get YA if you are financially dependant (ie on parents), but a different criteria applies.

How will you organize your stuff?

The woolworths that I work at sold out of the 1c books within six hours - its a five week promo and we aren't getting any more :( So many people are complaining.

What happens if i save all my centrelink payments?

To the OP: the money is yours to do with it what you like. Just be careful that you don't end up with too much assets. I've had my YA cut by about $100 p/fortnight because I've got too much in savings. And to all the people who think I'm a burden on the system because I get YA and have...

You know what, it wasn't too bad. I did 6-3, 6-10.30 as SSA putting tickets up and 11.30-3 operator, and once I was on F/E, it was pretty good. The only thing was when I went to go to tea at around 9oclock, I pretty much got told by the boss lady person that they didn't take tea breaks until...

well its 5.19 and i'm successfully out of bed and eating, so win on my part! haha, i seriously hope that this shift does NOT become permanent though, even though it would be so good around uni and all.

    The Woolworths Thread

haha i do that. when i'm on weeknight closes, i often have to go up to cash office at some stage in the night to double check envelopes and take tills upstairs (never any longer than 20 minutes), and if there isn't another supervisor with me, i use a guy in bakery who supervised at his old...

fml. i start at 6 tomorrow. not too sure how i'm going to get out of bed. (and yes, i am aware that plenty of people start at that time or earlier all the time. but i don't. so yeah ;)) our weekend smokeshop operator regularly pukes into plastic bags in the express lanes. gets away...

I think you actually have to write to the union and tell them that you're quitting first, before you go to your office people. Not 100% though.

NURSING at UTS or NOTRE DAME

Go to UTS. I know a few ND Nursing students and they always seem so stressed about the amount of work they have to do when you add their extra prac plus core curriculum in. Also since ND is still a relatively new uni in NSW it might be better to go to UTS.

The very first day that I supervised by myself was for this reason, CSM went home at 8.30am, basically as soon as I got there. Our old STM (who wasn't very good at checkouts) apparantly struggled on my lunchbreak.

What was ur first day @ Uni like, Uni Students?

My first lecture was a bit of a non-event, two people I knew from school were in that subject so I felt quite at ease. My first tute, however, was ridiculous. The tutor did all these 'getting to know you' type activities, honestly 15 people in the tute, five had come from the same school. I...

    The McDonald's Thread

i would call beforehand (ie today) and tell them exactly what you just said then, rather than no showing or purposely turning up late. I understand that they're screwing up the rosters, but that happens in all workplaces and is probably just a mistake. And if you're casual, I would throw...
