    Subject Selections for year 11?!

"Scaling: All of them are good. But, scaling does not matter because your performance is what matters." I'm sorry, but that's not true at all in real life situations. It's a lot, lot, lot, LOT easier to obtain a FINAL scaled mark (the one that goes towards your aggregate) of say, 90 in Physics...

    Subject Selections for year 11?!

Please, PLEASE try and do Adv English, MX2, Eco and Chem if possible - they are the uber scaling combo that'll REALLY help you get a better ATAR. I'd even recommend swapping eco for phys. Throw the SOR in there and you'll have 11, no problemo.

    Accelerate in Physics+Chem

Visit the link in my sig. In the event I can't tutor you (possible, since you're still in Year 10 and that might clash with my schedule), I'd be happy to forward you on to someone I recommend. Good luck!

[JAMESRUSE] English/Economics/Modern History/Maths Tutoring North Shore and Hills

Yash is rather cool imo. He is one of the very, very few who bears 'iSplicer's seal of approval'. Many a man, woman and beast have perished trying to obtain that status. Get in there for a trial lesson. Remember, don't look him too long in the eye or you're likely to be hypnotised by his...

how much harder is 3 unit than 2 unit

The difference between 2u and 3u is *quite* significant in terms of difficulty. In 3u, you need a much better understanding of algebra and calculus, and you must show some ability to manipulate your algebra/equations to arrive at the desired results. It takes a lot of practice, but it's...

    Subject units

No matter how many units you take, they always include the best TWO UNITS of english and the next best EIGHT units. (making a total of ten units that count towards your ATAR). If SOR was your worst subject, it will not count. If you bomb another two unit subject, they will only take one unit...

    Keen for year 12?

That's true, it definitely will help. But it's in no way necessary to do extremely well.

Review, Review REVIEW (on maths tutoring)!

Really? I've heard his prices are pretty reasonable when compared to the likes of Matrix and Talent.. Also, heard good things about Dr. Du as well.

    Another ATAR estimate please guys

English holding you back! With your school rank, you need to be one of the top few in English. If you can pull this off, then you can expect something rather nice.

    Keen for year 12?

Epic! Great to see how keen you all are. Good luck, and remember that your performance in Junior years has *nothing* to do with how you end up doing in the HSC. Seriously. Wrap that around your head and you'll do fine.

What can I tutor (MATHS) in NSW (ACT)?

I think it does. Not to say that a student who doesn't do physics won't be able to ace mechanics, but I'm pretty sure physics helps you grasp the concepts faster and makes the entire process a bit less painful.

Matrix, Dux Colleage or Talent 100

In T100's defence, however, I can attest that the tutors there are top notch and definitely know what they're doing (many of them being my mates). But in my opinion, environment/peers are also a huge factor that need to be considered. Give T100 a go, and see if you like it, I guess.
