    Further Trig question

Yes but sometimes you need to deal with getting solutions within the required domain. With t-results you don't need to deal with this (as I stated above). Same goes to you ;)
  2. C

    Further Trig question

Yes but with the auxiliary angle method you sometimes need to deal with issues relating to the domain. With the t method you don't need to do this and all you need to do is to check if Pi is a solution to the original equation.

    Further Trig question

    Or use t results.

I certainly agree that Extension 2 could see some matrices. I would probably opt for having Harder 3U being taken or reduced out in favour for matrices. That is, if it would not be made into a 2 year course. The Mechanics is quite useful at university, considering the level of HSC Physics at...

After reading your submission, I feel that you quite dislike Probability. Why is this so? And what is the Number Theory?

    Integration Q

That's a very minor error. In the worst case scenario you could just write 'let a=b'...

    Year 8 maths trial papers

I think I kept some from Year 8 and 9... Hmm where are they? :S I threw some out the other day actually. It's what happens when coke explodes in your storage :S

Buchanan, do you think the current Year 11 and 12 HSC syllabi for all levels of Mathematics should be replaced? If not, then do you feel that it should remain as it is?

Which option module are u doing in physics?

Well put it this way. At university, for the majority of Physics courses, Q2Q is the most applicable topic. It's another reason as to why you should do it. So you probably have a bad teacher for Physics. If you can't get the teacher to change their mind then just do the option that you're doing...

Which option module are u doing in physics?

Well believe it or not, my 21/25 in the Q2Q option paper got scaled up to 21.4/25.

Which option module are u doing in physics?

Past marker's comments. Not true. Having done Q2Q is useful for more university courses than the other option modules. ... Read what I said above... Also Medical Physics has quite alot of rote learning, which I don't personally like. (Girls tend to like it though lol)

2009 past hsc solutions cant find them ><

Or just use long division first. There's less mucking around that way I think. For the second question you could use x=1/u, but that'd require a bit more work than using the sub. x=secθ

    Logs Question

This is from the 2U 2003 or 2005 HSC (IIRC). The answer is 302. You need to establish a pattern for this type of question.

4 Unit Revising Marathon HSC '10

    That's correct. Good job! Next question: \text{If } h(n)=n^4+6n^2+9 \\ \text{(i) Show that } h(n+2)-h(n)=8(n+1)(n^2+2n+5) \\ \text{(ii) Hence prove by mathematical induction that } h(n) \text{ is divisible by 8 if } n \text{ is an odd positive integer}
