Standard and Advanced are scaled as a single course. The candidature are combined... But the scaled mean is reported separately..

If you achieved those HSC marks, there would be no other reason other than some error that occurred which could have resulted in that UAI. i.e. you don't deserve to have gotten 57.1, I'd stronly recommend you follow it up as much as you can...

What do you mean they give you the runaround. This is a serious issue. Although it's quite late in the year already, ring them up and ask why it was like that. There's no way such a large difference could be made. Perhaps you can send us a screenshot of your UAI/HSC marks ?

Your UAI is 72.20 If you really did get 57.1 and are not making it up, then something must of happened that shouldn't have. i.e. UAC stuffed something up, which I could say is close to impossible to have such a large marginal difference.

They do, it's about 30% preliminary knowledge and 70% HSC course. Look at the paper, there are actually some preliminary questions in it :P

Usually for Physics/Chemistry, the course for year 11, although different, can be readily applied in year 12 the learning method will be the same. i.e. you learn topic 1 in preliminary - the world communiates, then you learn something totally different - electricity, then you learn something...

You'll find that you have to find a technique that works out for you. Not everyone is the same, nor can everyone learn at the same pace as everyone else. Year 11 would of been a big help to develop this technique if you attempted the course.....which I didn't :D
