    worried

Year 11 means nothing. Absolutely nothing. The only use for it is being able to continue into year 12 with some experience. If you did very well in year 11 and applied the same studying techniques for year 12, you'd no doubt do very well. Ranks are most important. Ranks and the difference in...

UAI Scaling: Advice from a 2003 Student

The system is actually very fair or as fair as it can possibly be at this present time. The Board Of Studies encourages students to pick subjects they enjoy and can perform well in to prepare themselves for tertiary studies. In your case MissMcBeth, I guess your subject selection could of...

What exactly should I know for the HSC?

They can only ask stuff from the syllabus. studying outside of it has no use except for personal gain. But note that because you got the notes from a person who achieved 95 UAI, doesn't mean you will get exactly that just because you are using them.

    Explanation of HSC Marks (Moderating)

The school plays no role in the determination of your UAI. The UAC simply uses the marks given. There is no school scaling just because they are selective or private. The only difference a school can make is the atmosphere around you and whether the competition within it is high, thus...

    important question

That is correct. If you are ranked 1st, you are always awarded the highest exam mark as your moderated assessment mark. In this scenario you can see that being the only person in the class, it appears the school assessment become 'useless' - except as a measurement tool of your acedemic...

    worried

95 UAI is most definitely still with your grasp. HSC mark = The average of your moderated assessment mark + your HSC exam mark. Aligned = HSC mark 'aligned' to a set of standards. As you do not know what aligned marks you are going to receive until the day you receive it, it is...

    worried

How did everyone else in the class go? Try not to worry about it too much, just focus on your other upcoming assessments. It's impossible to say how much it will affect you because those marks you receive aren't that important other than to rank you between students. You still have 85%...

    Urgent Help

I know a fair amount of James Ruse students doing year 10/11 this year and I can safely say they have certainly gone way ahead of schedule. I can recall my friend asking for help on polynomials.....in year 10.... I was in year 12 when I did that, and I didn't even know how to do it anyway :D
