Same here. Two people at our school who were getting literally 20-30% for their assessments (incl. trials) ended up getting E3. Our teacher said "God knows how!!".

Why not? It was the only 4U book out there when the course was first introduced. I think it's as good as it was back then as it is today.

It was just pi/4 < alpha < pi/2 IIRC... I don't think you need a calculator solve values for which tan alpha < 1 ???

Ext 2 is always hard... looking at past papers would've established this.

Well for starters the whole exam was theoretical... There wasn't really any nasty calculations involved. I rarely use a calculator anyway, I make too many mistakes.

You could also take cases... more annoying though.

Umm... I used Fitzpatrick for complex numbers and polynomials only. But I also used the Coroneos 4U book in lieu with that. I reckon use Cambridge (or some other decent book) for harder 3U and graphs and then use Coroneos 4U book + Coroneos 4U supplement. Alot of people are put off by the...

In the HSC there are no marks given for the concluding statement. Yeah that's what my teacher taught me, but apparently the HSC doesn't like this 'mantra', so I just wrote "Hence it is true for all n>= 1, by induction", which is what they prefer (as said in the 2005 (and 2007 I think) MX2...

I think they don't deduct marks in the HSC if you don't write "+c" for integration usually anyway.

Well 2 d.p. means radians. If it asked for it to the nearest minute or degree, then you have to write it in degrees obviously. I dunno, second thoughts?
