    ITT: FML I hate uni.

Too vague assignments. I have to create a project and do weekly updates on its progress. What can it be about? ANYTHING..

    How do I cite references?

Monash uni has a good guide, it's got me through 2 years: Citing and referencing tutorial, Monash University Library

Faking Your 120 log book hours

They will know if you're a shit driver. People learn at different rates but if you've done legit hours then you shouldn't be one. And maybe just wait til you're 21 and don't have to fill out the book? If you get caught there's large consequences.

what colour nail polish are you wearing?

OPI 'Absolutely Alice'. It's a glitter of blue and gold. I've been wearing 'Mad As A Hatter' which is another awesome glitter..but that took sooo long to remove I will think twice before layering it on

The Ship has sailed, my friends!

^ Very true. I'm REALLY quiet and had no proper friends for my first two semesters of being a first year (course change..long story). But suddenly in the second semester people in tutes would say 'oh you were in my tute last semester' and I was thinking 'oh okay I didn't notice you at all heh'...

What do you wear to Uni?

Can't stand people using umbrellas on sunny days, they just take up half the footpath and look like idiots. They're not even parasols, just ugly dark umbrellas a normal person would use for RAIN.

    Rules for Staff

Dear Chemist, If I come in and buy some Neurofen, please do not ask me about why I am taking it and whether I have seen a doctor recently blah blah blah. All I want is the bloody painkiller, not the whole store knowing I have my period. Also; if I am buying Strepsils, don't tell me in a serious...

How do you pick out the First Year Students

First years wander into the wrong lecture theatre in groups of 3-4 and giggle hysterically when they realise their mistake. A normal student would just leave immediately, not act like a ditzy idiot. They're also the ones trying all the food places that have stuff sitting there from 8am..

Faking Your 120 log book hours

Finally got my Ps :) My logbook had a few mistakes, such as writing the wrong odometer with the wrong numberplate, and my mother signing a lot of dad's journeys..but it didn't matter in the end. The guy did a quick browse of my book, wrote that I'd done 140hours, and gave me an eye test. BUT...

Getting your Ps - Driver Ability Road Test (DART)

Yay got my P's today :D The guy told me that I wasn't doing headchecks and mirror checks enough, so make sure you do them more often than you normally would!

    Work Experience

I did my work experience in two place: a pet shop and an accounting section of a company. In the pet shop I cleaned shit, picked up shit, and was treated like shit, by shit people. Overall I wouldn't recommend anything in retail. In the accounting place I photocopied and crap, because that's...

    organisation

I print all of my lecture notes and keep them in one of those books full of plastic sleeves. I have one book for each subject so I don't get confused. During lectures I highlight the important bits and write notes down the sides etc (this is also useful when going over stuff before exams and...

    how will people react?!?

Tbh that idea sounds really tryhard and I would automatically assume you a wanker with a big ego who I should avoid. The kind of people that wear 'free ___' shirts at my uni are the annoying ones that follow you around trying to get you to join a club/support some cause/buy something.

If You had a spare 20k

Mazda 2 or Ford Fiesta. I'm hoping to have one by June! But which one is the hard decision.. Reason? I want a hatchback for mostly city driving that looks awesome. Wanted a Nissan Micra for parking purposes but no one supports this.

The transition form high school to university

Also forgot to add that your booklist isn't compulsary like it was at school. The books are generally double the price of ones at school and only ever really help when assignments are involved. Unless you plan on reading your textbook regularly and doing all the exercises (haha; I tell myself...

Is having a relationship during school/university worth it?

I think the type of the relationship matters more than the timing of it. If you're immature and annoying as shit about how much 'in love' you are as a high school kid, then you're probably going to be 'heartbroken' when they cheat on you/you sleep around etc etc. I started dating my boyfriend a...

What do you wear to Uni?

I wear whatever I feel like wearing. People wear all kinds of things to uni; from PJs to jeans/tshirts to cultural dresses. Just don't wear high heels as you will look like a wanker. Same goes for wearing the same thing EVERYDAY. It doesn't matter if you're seen in the same thing more than once...

The transition form high school to university

No uniform - you can dress up like you're going out of rock up in your PJs (unless you have labs, as mentioned above) No daily lunchtimes with your friends - unless you make some with the exact same timetable A bigger campus - you will probably get lost for a few days. And may have to...

    Banks hiring

I know a few people that have recently been employed by banks. The youngest turned 18 in October. They only had retail experience, and just work as tellers. I think the best way to get into the industry is by having people already there, or by scouring their careers section for vacancies. Good luck!
