    FOOD TECH OR BIOlOGY?

I would do bio - I do it now and love it. Much more interesting and more useful. It's good to do at least one science, and people genuinely get excited about bio classes, especially practicals. Plus you get an excursion to the disease museum at UNSW.

I didn't say tens of thousands. Sorry, didn't realise you had an inferiority complex.

To those who do 3 sciences

Only if you're good at all three. So many people do Bio because they think it's "easy" - it isn't.

Help in choosing subjects? What scales good and bad?

I have no idea about the scaling of languages hahaha. How do Italian Continuers and Extension scale in comparison to other languages? I'm aiming for a band 6 and E3 or E4 respectively.

    Teachers crossing the line

But there might be an issue in the externals of a bad essay question or maybe you just felt sick/tired on one particular day on one of your stronger subjects. You won't perform as well and therefore may need those extra 2 units as a backup. You never know.

Is there ANYONE on here that does drama?

I think there's a 10% leeway, not too sure, but if all four are in the same format it should be fine. Good luck.

    Kind of depressed about HSC

Thanks. English was actually OK but really inconsistent. I got 10, 9 and 7 in Belonging (not great, but better than last semester), but 20 (Pride and Prejudice/Letters to Alice), 14 (Hamlet) and 12 (Wag the Dog) in paper 2 (Advanced). Music 1, Maths and Bio were really disappointing, haven't got...

    Italian Extension orals?

How did everyone find them? :wavey: or :jawdrop:? Which question did you do? I did the first one about communication.

Is there ANYONE on here that does drama?

Monologue? Costume design? Film? Script? Be specific.

    Kind of depressed about HSC

I initially do them with the time limit, but with access to the textbook (not the internet though). I then do the same paper with the same time limit but with no access to the textbook. For subjects like Bio which are very content heavy, I do past papers with my teacher one on one, and I made a...

Did you choose the High School you now attend or did your Parents force it on you?

Re: Did you choose the High School you now attend or did your Parents force it on you Hahaha my parents wanted me to get in everywhere. I put down NSGHS, SGHS, Fort St and Hornsby, got my first preference. My PS music teacher convinced me to audition for Newtown. Mum decided she didn't like...

    Kind of depressed about HSC

I agree. I have severe ADD and anxiety so I find even getting the motivation to study when I'm in a good mood difficult. During my study periods my friend sits with me and pretty much forces me to study, and that's fine at school, but at home there's my computer, my piano, the TV. I turn off the...

    Teachers crossing the line

Study for these two units in the externals because they might need to count, otherwise, maybe drop them. Can you? My friend was allowed to drop maths but she got like 15% so they basically had to let her.

How are you guys feeling that schools almost coming to an end?

Just going through things I wish I should have done in previous years. Like I quit rowing because of the early mornings and because I got completely alienated at rowing camp, but should have kept it. Also really wish I studied more in junior years; I've missed a lot of things that would have...

    UAC is now open

Honestly, I would be really happy with low 90s. Music 2 scales better than music 1. I shouldn't have done music at all because I'm starting to really hate singing. Everyone else in my class apart from my drummer friend and me play piano/violin and I'm way out of my element.

    Engliish advice

Thanks so much. I was really inconsistent in English. My best section was Module A, which, ironically, was for the two texts I disliked the most (Pride and Prejudice and Letters to Alice).

    English paper 2 trials

My English marks were so inconsistent. I got 10, 9 and 7 in belonging, and then 20, 14 and 12 in Paper 2 (I do Advanced and find Wag the Dog kind of hard to write about).

    Kind of depressed about HSC

I did past papers, summarised my notes, re-read my English texts and notes. I have a problem in exams where I psych myself out and my teachers know that. I am nervous because my school has a reputation of going really well in the HSC, my family sacrifices a lot for me to go to my school and I...

    Teachers crossing the line

IMO it's acceptable for the teacher to call you out if you've made a significant improvement or if you topped, but when you're likely to be a bit pissed off about it, and not to mention not even there to defend yourself, that is crossing the line. Talk to your year coordinator/subject coordinator.
