If you're capable enough of doing advanced would it be wise to try ee1?

Don't make any decisions until you've found out from your teacher what the module will be. If you are a good English student and you like the area (or you could see yourself liking the area), you could give it a shot in Year 11 and drop it if it isn't working. It's a nice subject if you get a...

    Advanced English - Satire help!

At first glance, the idea has some potential, but I think the problem will lie in how you deal with the show's target audience. Generally you wouldn't find sustained satirical programs in the children's market. I think you could make the case that the show is intended to appeal to both children...

    ATAR Estimate

Good plan to work on Music, but you also really need to think about English. Standard English students, even the top-ranked ones, very rarely pull Band 6s so the kind of score you'll get with a 7/39 rank won't be much help to you if you want 90+ ATAR. Get the English rank up a bit, work on...

    help!

One of my friends got a 46 with about 6200 words so it doesn't look like it necessarily stops you from getting an E4. Dunno about higher marks though.

Thinking of doing 4 extension subjects in year 12...?

Not as hard I thought it would be. Because the two subjects require completely different mindsets I rarely got burned out on them (like if I was doing too much Maths I could move over and have a break with some English and vice versa). So that was good. The only really, really hard bit was...

Any Tips For Attaining 95+ Atar?????

Study. Past papers, syllabus notes etc etc. There's no magical secret to it - it's the same stuff you've been told to do all the way through high school :).

10 Russian spies arrested in the US, 1 in Cyprus

I love this. All my favourite paranoia-inducing spy films/TV series are now true.

Thinking of doing 4 extension subjects in year 12...?

Give it a go. Your ranks are great and it won't hurt to try. Personally I found 4U Maths, 4U English and Extension History to be a bit too much work so I dropped History, but I'm glad I tried it out.

I feel so behind in studying! I'm Panicing!

Uni's only really stressful if you make it stressful (at least in my courses). And IMO it doesn't have anything on the pressure of the HSC. If you're panicking about trials etc, maybe sit back and take stock of what you need to do. Spend some time making lists and identifying what you actually...

Extension two english to do or not to do?

Yeah, don't drop d&t straight away because you're not going to know how you'll feel about the course for a while. I had a few scripts in my MW and it was a really rewarding medium to write in. I probably liked it more than the short story medium in the end.

    ITT: FML I hate uni.

Free!! Dear Geopolitics lecturer: it would have been really good if the exam paper you handed out to ~600 people was free of typos, bad capitalisation, poorly constructed sentences and extraneous punctuation. Just a thought.

To all the people who have made it into law

Mixture. My feeling is that natural intelligence means you just have to work a bit less than everyone else for the same marks, but if you really want to do well you should try just as hard anyway. ATARs are based on a year's worth of work. You don't just hand UAC a copy of your MENSA...
