    Structure of essay for genre?

As I normally don't use any prepared essays for this subject, I find it easiest when I'm in an exam to structure my essay in terms of text. Some see this as too simple and prefer to structure it in terms of convention/technique, but the way I do it usually gets me 23+. In regards to talking...

Anyone finding this less stressful than expected?

Yes. I always imagined when I was younger that I would study a lot for the HSC and be stressed out, but these exams feel like any other everyday obstacle. I wouldn't call myself apathetic, I do care, but it seems so trivial in the scheme of things. All I want is to get into my course.

    General Thoughts - Legal Studies

For the question on penalties, how many marks do you think will be deducted from an answer for not mentioning one of the seven specified penalities in the syllabus?

    General Thoughts - Legal Studies

Overall, the paper was alright. Multiple choice was the most difficult section for me. I was a little bothered when I first saw the 8 mark question from the crime section, even though it wasn't difficult. I just didn't think we would get such a high mark question on something so little in the...

    Crime: 7 mark Q.

I agree about last year's crime section... it was ridiculously easy, as though they were handing out marks for free. Wow. Well at least I guess it's comforting to know that they will take responsibility for asking something that isn't in the syllabus.

    Help needed for Crime 'Essay'

It's just a criminal issue you study in depth. From what I've heard, many schools skip over this and make you learn this by doing an assessment on it. Examples include; juvenile justice, domestic violence, organised crime, euthanasia, decriminalisation of cannabis, terrorism, etc.

    Crime: 7 mark Q.

Thanks for that, I wasn't aware. So do you know what ended up happening with this? Were people given extra marks?

    Crime: 7 mark Q.

    (c) Compare and contrast the problems faced by young male and young female offenders when they come into contact with the criminal justice system. This was from the 2005 paper. Does anyone have any ideas on how to answer this? I can't seem to think of any significant differences in the...

    Lear - Personal Response

From my understanding, of course it's alright if you don't use first person, just as long as you make it clear you have formed some sort of personal view on the text, even if you did this through an authoritative tone in third person or something.

    Lear - Personal Response

In today's context of relative values and ever-changing standards, a personal view believes that King Lear's message is that order must be maintained over chaos on both a personal (inner) and broader level, or else conflict and tragedy is inevitable. (Something like this, but not made to sound...

    I am confused

This module is so annoying. I planned on using the same essay (obviously changed to suit the question more) as I did in my trials which received a good mark, but now I'm trying to rewrite it all from scratch because I'm worried about getting a marker that doesn't think the 'readings' are...

How many booklets did you use?

S1 - 5 and a half pages S2 - 7 pages S3 - 11 pages In regards to whether the markers take into account anything that isn't written on the lines, I read an examplar response and there was an arrow pointing to another blank page where there was more writing, so I think they do mark it.

Was it ok if u disagreed with section 3's statement?

That's the thing, you don't need it. Like you said, the obstacles which change your perspective shape and strengthen your human spirit, so at the arrival you are more spiritually entact than you were at the onset. That was the gist of my argument anyway.

Was it ok if u disagreed with section 3's statement?

No, bullshitism. By the way, I disagreed with the quote.

    Words per hour

That's a really good (and enviable) length. My prepared creative piece for ext is only around 1200 words, and in the trials it turned out to be around only 900ish. This is a question for anyone: how many words have your teachers advised you to write for the creative piece in ext, or have they...

    anyone else bluding???

I think if you actually understand the content and have done some amount of revision throughout the year, you can still perform well even if you only study a few days before an exam. I know everyone prefers to study differently, but this is how it works for me... so now I am bludging and not...

    Question on a technique.

As mentioned earlier, it could be referred to as an allusion, yet you could also refer to it as another example where Huxley uses satire. For example, in my essays where I choose to discuss the characterisation of Lenina, I refer to her name as a way of drawing parallels between her and the...
