SMH article on how shit is HSC English

There's a very simple solution to all of this. Don't learn the prepared essays. Don't learn the subject the way the syllabus encourages but in such a way that you will enjoy the texts. Guess what happens? When you actually enjoy the texts and you get to know them, writing essays on them is a...

    Latin Continuers!

What do you guys think about nemini? Why was it dative? Clearly not predicative. Can't be agent because aspiciendi is a gerund not a gerundive. I thought it would have to be possessive because facio doesn't take a dative, but I wasn't sure whether that was what they meant by "dependant on verb"...

fere means around amens means out of her mind I knew both of these because they had come up previously for us in unseens and Caesar. So I'm rather annoyed with myself.

    Greek - quick help

I'm not sure whether this is what dd24 was saying but the participles agree with the Scythians: οι Σκυθαι λαβοντες τους νεκρους και γνοντες των γυναικων ειναι, εθαυμασαν... I assume the sentence continues with what they wondered about or at but I couldn't work out which so I assumed...

    Classical Greek Continuers!!!

No we learn new grammar but just not from a textbook. Tbh there's not really anything else to learn at that point other than minor occurrences. And these things are peculiar to particular authors. The best way to learn them is by practice at actually reading them and learning them from practice...

    Probability Question

I got 120 in two different ways. The first method: (Over-counting then adjusting) there are 6 faces and 6 colours so if we paint one at a time there are 6!=720 ways to paint it. However obviously some of these will be repeats. Because there are 6 different ways of coming up with the same...

    A Question of Christian Theology

To start with this is not what I said. I said that everything good comes from God. While it is true that when it was created the universe was good and created to be good not everything created by him is still good. So it does not follow that evil is nothing. It follows that evil is rebellion...

    A Question of Christian Theology

Firstly, I'm only coming to this thread just now and I can't be bothered to read 11 pages of bickering so I am going to simply write what I think about the original questions and maybe preempt a few objections. I apologise if I end up repeating what other people have said. To begin, I'll deal...
