oh hey guys, help xiao the computer illeterate... i got s th like 20 gig hard disc before i got virused... now after i format n install everything, i only got 2 gig now =( and yes i formatted into fat 32 already...

LMAO, good point actually.. ahahahaha I remember once I accidentally forgot to partition my remaining space.. so I had a 1.5GB partition and 248.5GB unpartitioned space......... buahahahahahaha.

right-click on my computer -> manage

disk management

see if there is any unallocated space.

problem starts when i tried to turn on pc... everything loads, then the pc tells me windows cna't load c:\windows\himem.sys , dblbuff.sys, ifshlp.sys
and i am brought to dos... can't access a: can't access d: (2nd partitioned hard drive) can't access e and f (cd rom)...
so i formatted c drive using ms dos 6.0 disks, installed ms dos 6.0, installed cd rom drive, installed win98(se i think)...
now when i go to my pc, i can only see 1 hd drive with capacity 1.9 gig... :'(
any one offers a soln??!!

i'm running winxp fine on an old athlon 1.1ghz, P3 800 should run it if you have enough ram.

well, put your start up disk back in and run "fdisk"

haven't used this in a long time so i don't remember how all the menus go, but i think you can view partitions and see if you have all the disk space partitioned.

you really should post this on the IT forum, this sounds pretty serious.
