I didn't feel stressed with 10 units

Best decision of my life. (28+4)/56 periods of my timetable were study.

+4 is Catholic studies so eh, bludge
I think that the biggest thing that people don't get when they start year 11/12, is that everyone is different. There is no one way to study the best, or the best amount of units to do, or the most right subjects to pick. There is no cookie-cutter method of completing year 12.

That's why I say "play the HSC".

You pick the path that benefits you the most.

+1 for 10 units. Ended up doing 8 units in my HSC year so I only had 13 hours of classes out of 25 in a week, and I think it worked out quite well.

Then again, to each their own. If OP doesn't think they can use their frees effectively or cope with the pressure of having no 'backup' then 12 might be better.
