Can't you drop EX1 right now since you have 13 units?

It's better to have the minimum 10 units as it will allow you to concentrate on each subject and excel and there will be a less workload, however there is a higher risk as if you 'flunk-out' you have nothing to fall back on.

P.S. Welcome to all the new members.

Yeah, but I'd suggest to people doing Extension 2 Mathematics and to some extent Extension 2 English, to do 11 units in case they choose to drop.

Hey Guys!

I'm doing:

- Standard English
- General Math
- Business Studies
- Ancient History
- Information Technology
- Biology (Dropping it!)

I'm Aiming for a UAI of about 80 and I currently do exceptionally well (90+) in all my subjects. If I maintain this mark nxt year, will it be possible for me to achieve a UAI of 80 ,?
eventhough i drop biology?

I agree with that. I'm planning to keep 12 units for the HSC - because I'm planning to do Extension 2 Maths, because in case I flunk out - I have something to fall back on. Also because I've accelerated, it won't be too bad having 12 units. But yeah, I think, try and do 10 units, unless you are doing an extension course, then better off being safe and doing 11/12. I think you would be crazy to do any more than 12 in your HSC, unless you are accelerated.

Also, welcome itzagurlthang =]

Yeah, I think with those subjects, if you work hard and get good results, it will be pretty easy to get a UAI over 80, even 90. Not all your subjects are bad though, business and ancient seem alright to me, but Standard English and General might be a bit difficult to get over 90 ... but work at it... and you should get a good UAI.

Anyone who says that a subject is 'easy' or a 'bludge' is wrong. You have to work hard in any subject, otherwise you will not get a decent mark. Nobody can fluke their way in the HSC.

But enough of that... welcome guys.
