How exactly do you answer this part? I've always got 4 out of 5, nd I dunno how to get that 5 out of 5. If the question says compare and contrast what do you do and what's the best structure? Thanks

Integration is the ideal structure, so you need to weave in Text A and Text B together. For example, take a quote, technique and point from Text A and then compare/contrast it with a quote, technique and point from Text B.

Really? But I've been told to structure it like this:

P1: T1
P2: T2
P3: T1
P4: T2

Or am I wrong?
It obviously depends on whatever your teachers have told you to do. I have been told if integration can be achieved, it would be better. From memory, I remember receiving 4/5 for a question like this with comments stating that I needed to integrate more (there was a positive comment to the one time in the answer I did integrate). So you do not really need to integrate all that much, just here and there to keep the link going. Otherwise you are not actually comparing/contrasting.

I did it like a mini essay

Intro
AB
AB
Conclusion

Or

Intro
AA
BB
Conclusion

(depending on the question, however I would try to do AB as much as possible unless I was stuck or depending on the question)

UR DEAD BUDDY

But seriously, as long as you have a clear and consistent structure you'll be okay. I can't tell if this "4 out of 5" thing is a one-off or a regular trend, but it sounds to me like it's a question of luck and marker preferences as much as anything. I mean, I once got 0 for a 1-mark question because I didn't use a full sentence (the question was "Name one place where the narrator feels at home" or something like that). The only loss I had in that section, too.

Personally, I opt for the ABAB structure for "compare and contrast", and the AABB for anything else relating to two texts (e.g. "How do the two texts depict loneliness?"). This is because ABAB lets you juxtapose texts against one another for each point (thus directly targeting what the question wants you to do), whereas AABB allows the marker to clearly identify which text is being treated at which point (far higher readability). Like madharris says, it's about what you feel comfortable with and what suits the question.

To get a high mark, you need to make sure you are connecting both texts conceptually in relation to belonging concepts:)
