i haven't seen much ppl with that, only kfunk so far, so i was interested in what was needed for a 99 UAI with a band 5 english.
phys - 92 - 91
eng - 91 - 86
econ - 91 - 89
4u maths - 88 - 94
3u maths - 90 - 97
----------------- chem - 89

first column is my friend, he got 99.55, 2nd column is me, i got 98.85, quite a big difference due to those 6 english marks.

so basically, maths dun scale much or not as much as before?

Thats weird. I had

bio- 91
chem- 92
eng- 91
3u- 96
4u- 93

and my UAI is 99.25. I think Physics weighs a lot in terms of your UAI because my friend had very similar results as mine but did physics instead of bio and got 94 for it and got 99.50 UAI.

due to those 6english marks? Which 6? I can only see 5. Haha, 94 in 4u maths and 97 in 3u maths, but can't subtract. dw, i understand i got 96 in 3u and 90 in 4u, and the other day i couldn't figure out the change from $50 when purchasing $13.75 of products. It's cos you get a calculator at school.

Lol, all these 99+ bastards showing off. Just some trivia, if you choose Latin Cont, Classical Greek Cont, Maths ext 1, Maths ext 2, Adv Eng. And you get 89 in english and 100 in the rest - you'd get a 100 UAI (SAM Calculation).

Weird- no premier's award yet a 100 UAI.

Given that marks are going up, it would be potentially harder to get a high 99 [law esque 99.6+] with a band 5 English. It was comparatively easier (at least for me) in the 2003 HSC.

The BOS should really stop marking to standards which it seems are much easier to achieve each year [with past papers & whatnot, not because of lowered standards]. If everyone's getting a band 6 it becomes meaningless.

Just to compare marks with all you science-y, maths-y type people [I don't understand you!!]

My UAI = 99.7 [which I honestly thought was surprisingly and almost abnormally high, but hey, I'm not complaining!]

My marks:
Ancient History - 96
Economics - 96
English Advanced - 92
English Ext 1 - 48
English Ext 2 - 49
Modern History - 95
Chemistry - 87 [I accelerated this in 2004 however]
Maths - 86

English (Advanced) 88
English Ext 1 80
Maths Ext 1 95
Maths Ext 2 88
Chemistry 85
Biology 93

Yet I still got a uai of 98.4

My friend got nineties in modern and ancient history, anvanced english and extension 2 english (but not extension 1) and I still beat her. How does that make sense?
