For our grade 7 graduation. Corniest shit ever. We all stood still as the song played and did fancy hand movements (dove flying away etc.)

Before that, some faggots suggested American Idiot by Green Day...

I SUGGEST

there is only one song

i touch myself- the divinyls

i had "when you were young" by the killers and times like these by the fooies, but that was more of a musical performance than a graduation song. but then again its not about the lyrics, its about seeing the dickheads in your year run up on stage and get their gabba on.

Do you know they made a new Thomas the tqank engine? I was at usyd watching the screen when I was waiting once, and I saw a new tank engine story, this time its more like animation though - like a train version of the Pixar/Disney film Cars.

YouTube - Lighthouse Family- High
i cant believe no one mentioned High- lighthouse family.. its like.. the best..
My grade did that last year, it worked quite well actually even though at first I thought it'd be too cliche. I recommend a slowish song like this one because you actually have a chance to hear what people are saying rather than a bunch of muffled words and crying. I personally wanted at the time to use a section of You Get You Give by the New Radicals. I think the F.R.I.E.N.D.s song is pretty cliche too probably but it has a nice tune and if no one can sing at least they can clap:p Also use as many school in jokes/references as you can when you change the lyrics because no other schools may get it but it makes it that much more special/personal for your grade:)

For the sake of it, here's some our last year graduation song to High

*We're all close to tears 'cause we remember
Our days at Hornsby are almost over
It's time to say our last goodbyes
We'll remember our finest hours,
Exercising our senior powers,
Like pushing in at the canteen line...

(Chorus) And though we will not be
Forever, at Hornsby we will
Always keep these mem'ries close to our hearts (our hearts)..."

Or at least that's how I remember those snippets:p Couldn't get it out of my head for ages when we sang it at graduation.

American Pie - Don McLean was parodied for the Last Episode of Hey Hey It's Saturday. It's an easy transfer to make it about the last day of high school.

Additionally,

Born Slippy.NUXX - Underworld would be great IMO, though entirely unrelated.

we will still be
frens forever

Awww, Amelia, i'm sorry to hear you still depressed about your friends ditching you. :(
It's so gay, i hope my closest friends still stay in contact, because i plan to go to different unis to all of them. :( None of them want to go to USYD. :(
