I'm sure the computer nuts who work on these cards could authorise certain parts of information for certain scanners and not for others. The regulation of these scanners would have to be incredibly tight, but naturally they'd leak out and be sold on the black market.
I think the regulation would probably have to be in the card itself not the scanners... and if you can block information then you can unblock it. I'm sure someone would figure out the protection pretty quickly and soon everyone would know about it.

And if it was in the scanners it would only take one stolen one it could be duplicated over and over. If you could really get all this information from the card, which I seriously doubt, someone will steal one within the first hour they are in use.

Libertarians.. right wing? What are you talking about?

Don't tell me you have caught the erawamai virus.. You're speaking logical bullshit. (yes.. things that make sense, but are just bullshit by their very nature).

Non-protectionism also hurts manufacturors/farmers here, as they can't keep up with the competition of countries like china where its cheaper to make things. Protectionism is not absolute in case you havent noticed, and should very well apply to everything organic as Australia has the capacity to farm anything it wants.

Our orange farmers for example, shouldn't have to compete with cheap over seas products. Australians shouldn't have to eat cheap over seas products. If our farmers are threatened, we are all threatened. Even if it is better economically (ie, cheaper for australians to buy) .. it isn't cheaper in the long run due to lost taxes. That is why i rarely buy cheap products from the store. Yes i would save money, but not in the long run.

I never by crappy californian strawberries and cherries etc, because the money is better in an Australian farmers pocket then an Americans.

PS: Why am i VERY left wing? I may have some left wing traits, such as senseless ranting and idealogy based on nothing but dreaming.. But i dont think that im as left wing as you make out.
Right wing is defined by how economically liberal you are, and libertarians believe in lassez faire capitalism which is about as deregulated as you can get.

Farmers do not have to farm. They can work in car factories, for instance, or we might have a good climate for, say, strawberries. Wouldn't it then make more sense to have all of our farmers farming strawberries and/or working in factories, due to the larger profit margin for them and cheaper products for the consumer?

And I never said you were left wing, just that libertarianism was further right than your stance.

well, that or he may just have to refine his position to something more like only socially libertarian if his economic views don't match-up with libertarianism. Key being that libertarians are opposed to government trying to do most things

Why shouldnt they?

Competition lowers prices and increases total output. Theres also economics explaining how competition enlarges not shrinks the tax base. Go and do microeconomics before talking out your arse.

Too expensive; shouldn't need a license to prove citizenship.

lol, I like your take on the world Davin...reminds me of davit form Little Britain.."I'm the only gay inthe village". I mean the name, and not that you are gay...but if you were it's your thing. Not mine.

It was a post expressing my first reactions on heaing about htis card. And they weren't cheap american shots. They do have the same thing. My mom said, adn I have relatives there so they'd know. It's the security Id card...shit I forgot the exact name...doesn't mean it dont exist though! You know social security! That's it! With your social security number on it...what you need when you get a job. that's what this one would be like if they had it. I think my dad said they have it in the UK also.

thats not at all what a social security card IS. a social security card is given either at birth in the u.s., and there is a similar number you get when you become a citizen or, i believe, become able to legally work in the u.s. prior to citizenship. its a requirement for a job because its part of the tax system and also social security payments for those retired. banks sometimes need it, but its only official use is for tax purposes.

its not at all a national ID card, and in fact, the idea of a national ID card has been getting debated in the U.S. recently, though not doing well.
and you still had a fascist america shot in there
