Silly Germans are half way down the field. I should be used to that after this year :p

There was a huge crash though. Anyone see it? I'll watch 10 tonight, and see if they have time for motorsport

Hmm, do the drivers who qualified drive the races, or are they allowed to switch?

wow! why are all the germans always midfield? Argh, this shucks.

They are allowed to switch, as long as the other driver has set a practice lap within 102% of the team's fastest qualifying lap.

The sprint race is an interesting concept though. No points are offered, I wonder how many cars will survive til the end of the race

But montoya thinks that the concept of A1GP is good though.

The same points are awarded for both the sprint race and feature race, plus a bonus point for the fastest lap out of both these sessions.

Now, the Inaugral A1 Grand Prix......

It was an excellent race with a lot of action and overtaking and Australia finished 2nd, but Brazil (Nelson Piquet Jr) absolutely dominated.

The pit stops added all the more excitement as they are quite unique in the motorsport world.

If there are any problems with the race is the graphics and timing they give on the broadcast and probably giving the inexperienced drivers a revision of the "blue flag" rules. The problem with this is that sometimes the backmarkers are just as quick as the front runners, but the backmarkers shouldn't be closing the door on a front-runner - as Adam Kahn of Pakisatan was doing. These problems, however, aren't that serious and can be fixed.

Overall, it is an excellent concept that has turned into an exciting and successful reality.

On the commercials they say ticketmaster.

There is one compulsory tyre pit stop during the feature race and the crew have to wait inside the garage until the car comes to a complete stop. When it does, the crew can come out, with only one crew member per tyre.

True, I haven't even seen the race yet!

I dunno, its $100 and something for three days. But I have been invited to the Australian GP, and they requires a deposit asap so I can get a seat at turn 1.

Maybe braad would like to lend me some money :D
